Nope, I was hoping GsxrMe would answer since it's his suggestion... however more research seems to indicate that the slight draw created by air moving through the CAI is useful to pull gasses out of the crank case. I found a decent explanatory video here ( supercharged lotus, but same logic applies):

Jump to the 3 minute mark for a Pros/ Cons on atmospeheric vs closed system. I think this is steering me towards a closed system catch can:

@canyons: great video. For a street driven car, running a CCV can back into intake piping before the throttle body seems to be the better solution according this video. I might have to reconsider.

Quick side question: I have the PCV side radium catch can without the JR "check valve" installed.
Is there any detriment to the car if I don't use it?

It's my understanding that the stock PCV check valve was not made for boost, so if you don't have the JRSC check valve installed with your catch can, your crank case maybe getting pressurized as the intake manifold pressure builds (assuming the stock PCV valve was not designed for boost).

Due to the larger diameter of my catch can tubing, I ended up not using the check valve that came with the JRSC kit and used a 1/2" Boomba unit instead that runs inline between the catch can and intake manifold.

I was just wondering: I remember back, but cant find, a couple of threads where people were down on power with this system. It seems I am the most recent receiver of this problem. Does anybody remember any of the issues that caused the problems? My charge pipes and hoses are all in tact, so please don't provide that as a fix. Are there vacuum lines or anything that could cause this? CSG has gotten some and will receive more data logs from me, but in the mean time I was hoping to find something mechanical that might cause the problem. Thanks in advance

It was something to do with not getting full boost because of a malfunctioning bypass valve i think it was called or something

I'll be looking into the same thing I haven't dynoed mine but I do know that the car is not performing nearly as well as it should be with this kit.

That bypass valve was sent in for inspection, and was working properly. So that was not the issue.

Remember now that summer is approaching and ambient temperatures start getting close to triple digits that the car will feel like it has less power, supercharged or not. This is when having a engine oil cooler helps tremendously to help keep power up on those scorching hot days.

@twag4's car is pulling a massive amount of timing. The cause is unknown at this time. A few diagnostic procedures have been recommended, and I am waiting for more logs.

@twag4: Check for a possible vacuum leak, and also clean your MAF sensor with MAF cleaner. Your fuel trims at lower RPMs, part throttle, are pretty wild.
