Kida Stinger Couple due out 2018?
Read about this today, don't know much about it but it looks pretty sweet and rolls over 300hp

I would love to see this come true as I think it would force ours to get a turbo from the factory

IIRC, this was vaporware as of 2013-2014....
Pretty much, the moment the Twins' lost their sales momentum (i.e. once the limited niche of buyers looking for low-powered, lightweight sports cars all got theirs), everybody who talked game about following (Chevy 130R, Kia Stinger, Nissan 510 come to mind) all lost their nerve and bailed. |

If made would buy. This is the Kia site but that is a very old article. They may have reissued it but it says nothing different than it did 2 years ago.
This did make me actually chuckle out loud though - "an aggressive side profile in homage to the iconic Kia Soul"

Yeah, this one looks great on paper, buut it is not going to happen. Considering how Hyundai killed the Gen Coupe 2.0T, the GT4 Stinger would be a perfect fit into that niche, but Kia decided to nix the Stinger.
It probably would have been fast, but cheap like the Gen Coupe anyway. Hyundai cut some corners to make that car fast and cheap (tranny, brakes) and I'm sure Kia would go down the same route. I loved my Gen, but going over to the 86 now, I see the vast difference in quality and I love it. I'm sure the Kia would be more similar to that Gen than the twins. |

Oh, I think @Tcoat gets it just fine. I saw the Stinger at NAIAS in 2013 and Toronto in 2014. It looked really good. Too good to be real. Eh, if they actually made it, it would probably drive like a Rio.

I feel like this would end up like the Hyundai Veloster. Great in concept, but numb and dull in execution.

Hyundai will learn one day. Turbo/coupe/brembos/six speed/RWD does not automatically make a great car.
