Less energy consumption for the "environment", and also they can use lesser materials for the fog lamp assembly as a result (the old 55V bulb will melt this shit to kingdom come).

No reputable company makes a yellow bulb substitute for it either.

I know what you mean. My last car I retrofitted OEM Hella H11 glass projector fogs and they were super heavy and screamed quality.

The current mpg indicator in the tach display is pretty useless...I like having the AVG. MPG being shown, but no point in showing the current mpg when its constantly changing every 3 secs from 128mpg to 44mpg to 13mpg to 76mpg, what are you supposed to assume from all those random numbers? I'd much rather just have it say "this many miles left before empty".

It can help you learn gas-saving behaviors, if you are interested in that sort of things.

I agree though, a miles to empty function would of been way more useful than current MPG. or at least adding to that. My dad's Toyota Tundra has that feature and it's pretty damn useful lol

Don't tell me you ended up having to do the repairs yourself? what's the ending to this tragic story? I buy a dashcam for this kinda stuff..next step is to hardwire it to have it on while it's parked. Door got dinged recently.

Why not go for a proximity alarm wired to floodlighting and a speaker that belts out a message whenever a non-petrolhead gets anywhere near the Twin?

I assume you do know that it is working as designed right? Your MPG does vary second to second based on throttle input, road incline and about a million other factors.

In general the 86 driver is way underserved in terms of the information the car knows (or at least could know) that it could be sharing with us, and without having added some huge amount to the cost of the car.

That is personal "miss" on the design of the car. My '04 Suburban and MomHawk's '05 Mustang provides way more useful information via their one or two line console, not to mention being able to program simple things like the lock "beep" without having to pay the dealer some huge fee.

I just ranted in another thread about drivers who do not pay attention.

Maybe they just read stuff of their consoles.

It might be that modern cars tell you too many things and you spend time looking at your consoles, displays and gauges instead of on the road outside.

I once got a Prius as a loaner, and it had a cute animation on the dashboard showing energy flow between wheels, gas motor, electric motor and battery at the moment.

It was captivating. I don't know how I did not crash.

really you can't see it's use... maybe you shouldn't be driving then. Seriously though it's useful and I adjust mine based on location/visibility (higher for long woodsy road, lower in city)

I'm confused... Prius, cute, energy flow between the wheels and captivating all in one posting...
