The only thing "growing" in the ads shown to me are for CDs, and 1.00% APY is absolute shit I agree.

I am using, in no particular order, Duckduckgo as my default search engine, AdblockPlus, BetterPrivacy, Ublock and Ghostery.

When I open WashingtonPost.com I don't see any adverts.

I looked briefly at the original journal article, and it does not seem to be clear whether this particular strain of bacteria isolated from a Pensylvania woman was or wasn't treatable with other antibiotics. Probably this one was, but that's good news only for this lady. (Although they say the bacteria was ESBL-producing, which means it was resistant to a lot of existing antibiotics)


The bad news is that information how to fight colistin, that last-resort antibitic, is out there, within some bacteria in the US (the lady reported no travel for 5 months), in a form that can be easily transmitted to other bacteria.


Once it is transmitted to bacteria that are resistant to any antibiotic except colistin (and those have been found), there is no way to treat infection with this bacteria.
