I'm dead serious. You shouldn't have to pay a cent. I'm assuming you have a written estimate, make a copy, take it to Shop X, and tell them that this will be the cost they will be paying for repairs. If they balk, tell them to talk to Longo and that you will be preparing the paperwork for a court date.

OMG, that is horrific. I will have to stick around and see the outcome, hopefully it turns out good! Will you be going to another clear bra place after?

Also, here is a good example of a perfect install:
Matte:

Clear:
http://www.luxury4play.com/lamborghi...p-premier.html

Also, here is a picture of a custom-cut clear guard on an Aventador, close up picture. This is a perfect example of how a clear bra should be done. You can't even see the seams.

These guys have tons of threads on their clear bra installs and they always look spectacular. They use a clear bra called "Satin Guard" which is matte and another called "Clear Guard" which is clear. If you go to their facebook you can see they did a ZX6 vehicle too in their pictures:

this is one of the saddest things i have ever read on a car forum, this is just horrible.

please keep us updated and i hope your actions will end up closing this shop. Too often in our society people open up shops selling services they were never qualified to perform in the first place.

I have already contacted a firm and am waiting for a lawyer to contact me. I will be contacting SHOP X today and see how they want to resolve this before I take legal action. At this point I think it will be beneficial for both parties if they just purchase the car so I can get into another new one.

Also, if Shop X says they will pay the costs (which I doubt), make sure they sign the estimate you give them with a statement that "repairs will be paid for by 'Shop X'"

Remember, kids, if you don't get it in writing, its not guaranteed.

As good as that would be, I doubt they will purchase the car, and you will be back at square one on the wait list. Better to get a loaner to drive (also on Shop X's dime) while the parts are repaired and repainted.

For the price, may as well repaint the whole car and not bother to blend the paint.

Holy crap bud, sorry to hear about the repair cost. That is insanely expensive.

It will probably be best if this shop X buys out your car so you can get in a new FRS and get it opti coated.

Really sorry to hear about your misfortune and this horrible workmanship.

That being said I cannot for the world understand people's obsession with sticking plastic covers on their cars, phones, sofas you name it. Making something nice look ugly to prevent it from getting a little scratch or chip. Seriously, it makes no sense.

how infuriating, especially the way that they have decided to treat you as a CUSTOMER. definitely work with the lawyer to get compensated for all the time you have wasted on dealing with something as ridiculous as this.

Not necessarily. If the install goes right with a good product and installer then the clear bra will look invisible unless you look really closely. Keeps scratches and nicks in the paint away while still managing to keep an OEM look.

Most tragic thread so far.

What complete ass clowns, I hope you make them lose sleep over what they have done to you and that poor car. They are in for a rude awaking if you aim this right.

wow 12k? Good luck, as I have a feeling you are gonna get stiffed hard on this deal. You may get a full refund, but if you have ever signed anything in relation to SHOP X, then you may be legally fucked.
I really hope it works out for you, though. I also hope you drag SHOP X through the mud no matter the outcome, because shit work like that should never be tolerated on a professional level.

If not, take them to small claims court.
