You've tested them and they fit? What company did you order from in Alibaba and how did you resolve them being shipped to Russia?

I'm picking up some wire tonight to start making the harness insert and extensions to the HID housings below and the hook up to the high beam feed for the extra harness I'll have to add so power is fed to the HID's below when I flick on the high beams and the main body ECU cuts the power to the fog light circuit. As far as the Alibaba seller and that tracking number. I cancelled the dispute when they arrived. The seller had said the tracking number was right. The lesson learned was don't use China's equivalent of our USPS. The tracking just isn't on par and it'll drive you crazy thinking you've been had. Pay the extra bucks for FedEx or DHL even if it costs 2 times more (in this case) than what I was actually paying for lol. Last edited by NahumCC; 03-10-2016 at 02:15 AM. |

So a quick test went well. Even though there are differences in the locking tabs they didn't interfere with each other.
Only sad thing I realized is I don't have blanking plugs to ensure they section I'm going to add on both sides remains water tight and I don't have engineering calipers to measure the diameter to then search te.com for plug blanks. Onto the photos. ![]() ![]() ![]() I've cleaned up some of my ramblings when I was thinking my way through this and conclusions I've come to. So I attempted to make my first harness. All was good till I went and tugged on both ends gently and all six wires popped out on both ends without the terminals.
I will be buying a better crimper that makes the proper wing crimp to ensure there is enough strength in the crimp to stay attached. The only good thing here is that I have enough connecters to make two full sets so this was the learning mistake lol. |

Oh I discovered the Toyota wire harness repair manual tonight. I'm going to get it added to the sticky section of the DIY area. Best part is it gives the factory part number to all the housings which each parts guy I talked to seemed clueless to figure out on there own.
So here are the OEM part numbers for the 10 Series/BRZ headlights 8 pin connector. 90980-10896 (male terminal housing) 90980-10987 (female terminal housing) Connector tab sizes are 2.3 II (in mm). IT list the part number of the leads with a short section of wire already crimped so I'm not bothering with listing those part numbers. Sealing plug 6mm diameter 90980-09152 5mm diameter 90980-09229 |

This is amazingly helpful! I just want to make sure that I'm reading this correctly. If I'm switching my FRS to 8 pin connectors, I need to order:
Male side: 90980-10896 (male terminal housing) 82998-12430 connectors which I assume come in a set with both blue and yellow 160mm long wires? 90980-09229 5mm diameter sealing plugs Female side: 90980-10897 (female terminal housing) 82998-12440 connectors which I assume come in a set with both blue and yellow 160mm long wires? 90980-09152 6mm diameter sealing plugs |

All I have to do to make the stuff I picked up work is buy a proper crimping tool to make the right style crimp but had I found that manual first I definitely wouldn't have done the Alibaba so I guess it works out well since i found options for all. |

This is a little off the thread topic but maybe the OP Can help me out with a similar wiring question. Can these wires be ejected from this plug? If so is there a tool I need? Also if this type of plug has a "name" maybe I can just look up a YouTube video.. Thanks and again sorry for the off topic question.

You should be able to. You need to get the white retaining ring removed first. You need a pic small enough to get under it where you can see there are slots in the top row. Once that is removed you'll be able to depress the retaining barb and pull out the pin you need to pull.

So FYI and warning, would not recommend these for anyone living in hot sunny area. The glass acts as a magnifier and when hit at a certain angle will melt the bezel as it did mine. Didn't go completely thru or anything but it's permanently marked. I guess you could make some covers for summer or maybe find a way to mount them further in. I have them on the third hole and in as far as they will go without some type of modification.

Thank you all for this post/ info.
For the owners of these Bixenon projector fog lights, how would you compare these against the OEM fog light system with Silverstars installed ? How much more light output would you say there is ? If Bixenons are say a 100 score, would a OEM+ silverstar bulb rate close to a 80 ? Thanks in advance. |
