opti coat + clear bra
would it be wise/suggested to opti coat your car and then get clear bra? im thinking about getting it done on the side to protect it from people that might try to key my car. also is 3M the best choice for clear bra?

You can't put a clear bra over the opticoat. It can't adhere to it. You would need to put the bra first, then opticoat.

Opticoat then clear bra then gloss plastidip, then wrap in cellophane, then cover in white shipping plastic, then enclose in shipping container and place in a pole barn. Then maybe it will be safe from rock chips!

Chris@Optimum: Yes, it will be fine and cause no problems. You can use a solvent as usual to prep and go ahead as you normally do. Now, if you remove a clear bra that had OC applied up to, but not under the edges you will have to compound down the line and reapply to the area. You can also apply OC directly to the clearbra material to maintain a fresh new look that will not fade/yellow. Source: http://www.detailingbliss.com/forum/...protection.htm |

Wrong Wrong Wrong.
- Opti Coat - Clear Bra - Opti Coat - Permanon Platinum 3-4/year Don't try to anal rape the car in front, try to fall back or get a car in front of you if there's a dump truck carrying any type of debris... That's how you avoid rock chips and even then there's a chance for them "attacking"... Remember there's no shame in driving your car like a car but it never hurts to be extra pre-cautious. |

If its the ultimate i would tape off the bra and do only the paint. Opticoat may affect the self healimg properties that are in the bra layer
