What do you mean by wait for? I found these on a few sites. Or are they backordered everywhere?

At the time i was shopping for them the Zs were on backorder for weeks, so i decided to go with the primes... Which turned out to be backordered as well. In the end i got a set of the apexi from speedfactory and I'm pretty happy with them

I am glad I am not the only one that can't make a decision lol. I have bounced around from Flex Z to XTA to KW V3, and I am still not sure which one I am going to get. haha. The car will almost surely never see the track, and if it does it'll only be the Streets of Willow. What it will see is long road trips and road construction and the shit roads of the east county of San Diego. All the talk of track this and autocross that doesn't mean diddly to me. haha.

Still dunno wtf to get haha.

I am shopping in the $900-$1200 range. If you're looking at KW V3's you are in a different category all together.

I was originally looking at ST's but since I live in the northeast I did not want to deal with corrosion problems and/or having to prep them on my own. I put this suspension upgrade off for about a year and I now started looking around again and discovered the FA 500's, then I found the Primes, then someone just replied saying to look at the Tein Flex Z's--which I've never looked at before.

I do not track my car. I am looking for the most comfortable DD coil out there at a ~1.8" drop. I do want it to feel sporty but I don't want to be spilling my coffee when I hit a bump.

Looking at reviews on all 3 of my potentials are promising. Reading more on the Tein's, they look the most promising with Teins background and the fact they are made in Japan. Not saying FA doesn't put out good stuff, but I don't know much about them or how long they have been around. At $825, the Tein Flex Z's seem like a steal.

.
Haha those are the tippy tip top of my budget. Really I am probably going to go Tein Flex Z's because they sound comfortable and they have the replaceable inserts instead of needing rebuilds. I think for me and my tendency to put on lots of miles on cars, that would work best.

But my brain goes "but you COULD get the double adjustables!" haha And the lead time on the Z's means I could save up money and maybe get the V3s haha

In my case I can afford anything, but I can't justify spending over $1000 on something that I don't truly "need". My current setup (factory struts w\ Eibach ProKit) works 90% fine; it's a little harsh at times and I'd like to be maybe .25" lower. Also, I know my factory struts can go at any time and my Eibachs paint is starting to peel a bit at the base of each spring which makes me nervous. Plus, getting shiny new parts is fun.

Yeah, I hear you, getting the best of the best is a guaranteed no buyers remorse. But the way I am, I will set these once and never touch them again. I like the single adjustment on the Tein's. With the KW's, I do not have the knowledge to properly set the rebound & whatever the other adjustment is correctly anyway.

I'm probably talking to deaf ears, but anyway: I have the cheapest solution for you guys... Don't buy any coilovers at all.

If you are doing this purely for the looks, invest your money in wheels and tires instead. There are a lot of wheel/tire combos, that makes the car look lower. Especially if you go with a lower offset and somewhat wider wheels. Like 17x9" ET35, and a meaty 245x40 tire to go with it.

The car will look great and handle better than a drop on low quality coilovers. Especially if you get some decent tires.

What do you mean by it can go anytime? Will it be like a serious accident if it does? Curious cause I'm running RSR Superdowns on mine for a year now but I've had no issues yet. How do you think the stock suspension will last with lowered springs?

I knew that.

Just be prepared that you DO will spill your coffee and if making the car more "sporty" it's not going to be a comfortable as stock.

I mean they can start leaking and need replacement. They may last a long time though since the prokit is a mild drop...I'm not sure how low your RSRs are.
