It looks so simple when you see little snippets of projects on the internet but you do not see all the anguish that got to that15 minute video. All the TV shows about restorations/modifications do not help eliminate the perception it is easy either. They haul a piece of junk in at the start of the show and half an hour later a show car is unveiled. What we don't see (unless they want us to) is the intervening months of 20 highly trained and specialized people cursing the the project as every possible issue turns up and the pile of money thrown at it.
In the real world the percentage of dream projects that actually ever get completed is probably very, very small!
I'm not even falling for the "well the show made it look easy" part. I like the shows, but I can imagine a lot more happens than what they show. The thing that gets me is what I've exhibited here. It was really, really easy to find the pieces. I could do that all day long and probably give you dozens of links and have absolutely everything I need. I feel like having all the parts is half the battle and just putting them together shouldn't be that difficult.

But the reality is they rarely just fit and work. And that's just sad, because as you said, very few builds are finished and the ones that are took extraordinary amounts of time, effort, and money to finish. It should be simpler, but it's definitely not.

So... I'm at a crossroads.

After doing some rough calculations with all my accounts, I think I can pay off the car today. I'll still have some buffer money in savings but its cutting it close with renewal on insurance and license plate coming up soon.

Decisions, decisions...

PAY OFF THE CAR. (There's always next week though if it's cutting it that close)

If one or two paychecks will increase your safety margin then hold off one or two paychecks. The couple of dollars saved in interest will not be worth the risk of getting caught short if something comes up.

Yeah, I was thinking half of the remainder today and then the rest next paycheck. I'll do more precise calculation when I wake up since I'm sooooooo tired. Dx

Great advice btw

I will attest, I paid off a student loan months ago just to get rid of it and I've been below what I consider my safety margin ever since, and I'm not likely to recover any time soon. I could've waited for a bigger buffer, but I probably wouldn't have done it if I waited. That being said, I've also loaned a friend $500 and spent almost $1800 on wheels and tires since then, so really it's my own fault I'm behind. Either way, if you can wait, and behave yourself and not spend it on something else, wait until your next paycheck.

I haven't watched pro wrestling in a while. I've been getting back into it and I have heard of NXT, but never watched it until today. I'm glad I did. Asuka, I love you.

Paging the suspension council

Since putting on the lower springs the car has a bit of negative camber(I'm aware this is normal since we don;t have adjustable LCAs stock). It is within spec and the tires aren't wearing unevenly but I personally don't like the look of the slight negative camber on the rear wheels.

I want to get rid of the negative camber, should I do camber bolts or just get adjustable LCAs? I'm aware camber bolts are significantly cheaper but I want to do this so it lasts/is the most structurally sound even if it costs more.

This is what I get for buying just the RCE yellows and not the starter kit that came with the bushings and camber bolts

EDIT: I'm now seeing a trend of people saying to just go with the SPC LCAs + toe kit and call it day. Probably what I will do

Have to do LCAs for the rear. Or just leave it and you will get used to it. I don't even notice mine anymore and as long as I am getting perfectly even wear on the tires I am fine with it.

Rear you want the LCA - there is no bolt, and the whiteline bushing makes your shop hate you.

Add more to the front, enjoy the visual balance once again and benefit from improved handling

After my venture into the Visual Kei genre of music I no longer trust Japanese performers gender even if there are visible boobs!
I was trapped too many times watching videos and am now gun-shy.
