Now to spend hours and hours searching for which brand of air filter to buy, even though I did this months ago, and they are mostly all the same.

The sulfide odor is from the eggs not the vinegar. And nope, vinegar (acetic acid) doesn't smell anything like sulfuric acid. Believe me, you will instantly know the difference!!
