That is a true statement. I do want to add though that it's chemically combined in there not just like stirred in.

I certainly hope that my body doesnt convert anything into sulfuric acid, because that would give a whole new meaning to "burning asshole"

You think it slipped by? You new here??

If you think that swapping the FRS engine is too expensive then you may be in over your head on a swap in an old car. I think you would be shocked at what a "cheap" project car will cost you. It does not happen for peanuts and the parts, tools, equipment, workspace add up faster and to more then you can possibly imagine. This is particularly true when doing swaps in older cars since the alterations required to mount modern engines and other components often need to be farmed out (unless you have a full welding shop) and can be very costly. Hell, just the wiring changes required can cost as much as half the price of an engine even if you can do all the work yourself.

The sad part is that even when done the swap the expenses don't just end because something will always be broken. It is the nature of old cars!

Not trying to discourage you but you need to fully understand what you are getting into and it isn't drop an engine in and drive away.

I have done many such projects and am in the 5th year of a search for the perfect Dart or Duster so know what it is like to dream of these things.

In my defense, you did seem pretty engaged in that science talk. And I've switched from an old car to a modernish car (in this case think late 80s, early 90s), at least for the new idea. I still do want an old old car. But either way, I don't suppose this changes anything, does it?

Also, it's just a random idea. My 'pulled from my ass' estimate budget was around $15k, but I'm sure that's barely half what it cost. I only based that off the internet saying an engine swap cost around $6000, but I'm guessing that's for the same engine.

Swap a Honda engine into a different Honda car. As cheap a swap as you'll get. I figure if there isn't a kit to drop it in without a fuss, it's not worth trying

Did an engine swap for $800 once but that was in 1973 so don't think it can be done for that anymore.
Ya, if it is just an engine swap it can be pretty reasonable but when talking about converting a whole system you are usually way more. Rule of thumb is take what you estimate it will cost and add 50% for a safety margin.

Also, I appreciate all you guys always responding to my stupid ideas. I'd just like to point out no matter what I come in here with, there's still a 99% chance that I will follow-through with the original idea. All of this crazy stuff is just the 1% brought out by boredom.

Yeah the low beam and the high beam have different plugs, fuck. (Although you can get incandescent or halogen for the low beams now) At least they were only $5/ea.

Looking for crazy?

First) If you want a project, how about http://www.factoryfive.com/kits/project-818/design/

B) The humor can be crude and I'll admit I haven't watched them all, but for an idea of how much can go into an engine swap, check out this series:

[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mlasPoP7hck&list=PLxpnMQNf05IeE1nfYAUKQA-ZY1G2q4oCT"]1960 Ford Falcon with Corbin Goodwin - YouTube[/ame]

ETA: The original link was to a playlist. I'll see if I can work out linking that without it only embedding the first video later.
