I proceeded to slow down and obey the speed limit. That is all.
Sorry about that, mate, I really had to poop.

They will do 118mph. The hood starts to lift at the wheel arches, though.

This is an actual thing I have a road near me that has a bunch of beautiful sweepers and then a really long straight with corn fields on the left and right, it looks superb in the fall. Me and my friends were having fun and routinely reach around 100 on that road safely, the hood literally starts to shake and buff it around quite a bit. I'm not sure what is up with the latch mechanism but it seems to allow quite a bit of play in it.

I was blazing along enjoying the increased downforce of the front splitter when I noticed the hood dancing at the sides. The hood latch had my back, though, but wow, that was sobering.

I think I would tape the tops of the headlights to keep air from jamming under the hood if I knew I would be going over 100MPH sustained. I wonder if side vents where those trim panels are would effectively evacuate the pressure.

Since it is light weight aluminum the spring that pushes down to allow you space for the latch to engage is also lighter then normal. This means there is a bit more play then a "normal" hood. If they firmed up the latch spring then you would risk bending your hood every time you closed it.

Do a hood delete.

Because weight savings.

Unfortunately it would take a lot to beat most cars in a straight line.

The fiesta ST would beat most FRS / BRZ drivers on a road course too :/

But all FRS/BRZ owners' mad driving skills will prevail.
And of course there is the obligatory "with the right tires yadda yadda yadda" thing to consider.

Sure, so.... throw some tires on the other car. Oh wait, then we just keep going down an endless rabbit hole, lol.

Apparently they're closer in performance then I originally thought. Pretty neat article here.
