Whew!

The best part of this refresh is that there is no jaw-dropping exterior restyle, or factory turbo/supercharger.

Main reason I upgraded mine to LED assemblies that actually put out usable light.

? They have dash indicator.

Fog lights don't have to be uber bright. They have to be placed low and have narrow directed light beam, to lessen chance for light to reflect from small mist waterdrops or snow in the air. One shouldn't judge much foglights effectiveness in normal night, when they work together with also bright main lights, but rather how well you can still see road when visibility is very bad due ambient weather. I've driven in snowstorm, where far lights created white wall 5-10m from car, only with near lights it was still somewhat visible ahead. THAT's when you need foglights, and when one should gauge their effectiveness or not.

No matter where you go in the World there is always an idiot of a driver still driving around in the middle of the summer with his/her fog lights on! Probably wondering what the warning light on dash is telling them.

I see nothing wrong if someone forgets them in middle of normal summer night, and seen them used as surrogate DRL on old cars without such. That won't do any harm to other drivers on the road (though that may mean that there is no attention paid to dash and other alarms might be missed). It's rear fog lights, that may blind drivers driving behind. I myself hadn't yet been in strong mist or snowstorm in this car, but i still used foglights aswell to better illuminate sides of road in curves, when i was on track in night time. Though slightly, but anything that enhances vision there, helps.

The problem with leaving rear fogs on during non-foggy weather mixing this with rain becomes a hazard for following traffic. Fronts don't pose such problems as they are set low. However you then get drivers on full beam with oncoming traffic...

Love the headlights and front bumper, but prefer toyota's flowing dash trim (radio bezel through to passenger side trim) the break kinda seems like an aftermarket radio trim piece was put in (especially the gloss black kinda sticks out of place imo. And working int the car business, I love the feel and long term hold up of the current gen steering wheel leather, the steering wheels I've driven with that new kind of pleather kinda irritate me, just feels weird. Again, just my .02

You won't believe the number of ricers here locally in Canada that jammed a bulb into the supposedly rear foglight housing to make it light up just to look cool (our cars are missing the wiring harness for it from under the dash to the fuse box, can't even retrofit it readily). They just tie the bulb to the parking lights so they would remain on all the frggin' time, or tie it to the brake lights. Talk about ignorance.

That being said, I did retrofit the factory driver side rear foglight and euro light switch into my Golf GTI when I had it (I miss the front projector fogs too), and it probably saved my ass literally a few times in dense fog on the highway.

The driver side integrated blind spot mirror is another item I wish the Japanese would adopt from the Europeans.

Been there, done that, still not noticeable. They're much lower wattage than a normal fog light... In fact they use the same bulb that's used on the Camaro "fog lights" that are used as DRLs, hence their pointlessness.

Depends on the lights. I use mine on back roads because there's issues with wild animals around here and I can't always use my highs because of oncoming traffic.

I have the valenti reverse light assembly and it's rewired as an extra brake light so I'll just be over here

To be fair, it's a green light, so not considered a "warning light."

Anyway, back the topic at hand, when do you guys think Subaru is going to release the real pictures of the facelift?

So I'm honestly not wild about the facelift, nice simple lines have been replaced with "make it all angry and aggressive" mantra of the late 90's instead of just making it pretty. The steering wheel is ugly, the headlamps are too busy and bumper too gundam (SP?). However I went and looked at the Toyota redesign tonight because I was curious...

Wtf. Lolololol God it's actually fugly.

I'm glad I have a '13, almost makes me sad I've basically blown my resale out of the water with "racecar" because in 30 years, if these car become collectible, it'll be 13-16's that people want.

I don't think that's rice thou, atleast if the light is like a stock yellowish tone. It just makes ppl driving behind you notice you more.
