[SYD] Swap my stock GTS 17" for your stock GT 16" wheels
Taking delivery of GTS in October. Just wondering if anyone else who is taking delivery in the same month would be interested in trading rims as stated in the title.
Reason is just personal preference. I hate the look of the 17" rims and would prefer the 16". I will be changing wheels soon to a more performance orientated set up so whatever I have stock on the car doesn't bother me, its just the 17" is an eyesore in the mean time. Asking for straight swap, no cash adjustment required. If anyone is interested shoot me a PM. |

they should easily clear the brakes. the caliper is the same, as well as the offset of the caliper/rotor.

U sure the brake calipers are the same? My research shows the rear pads are different.
Should still clear the wheels tho I think.... |

spiller, please note that all 4 calipers, rotors and even pads are different between GT and GTS. The biggest issue will be the larger diameter front rotors (GT:277, GTS:294).
You will also find the ride and handling performance is reduced (16" tyre has a stiffer sidewall and stiffer ride), so might want to test drive both to see if that upsets you. |

A stiffer sidewall would increase handling performance. The 16s have 205/55s vs 215/45s. Seems unlikely the overall ride would be stiffer. Not sure about clearance here's some photos:

If we were going to do it, I'd probably come to his/her place and we can just do a test fit, if its a no then so be it!
If anything, it'd be more likely I'd have problems fitting it on my car. However, as far as I'm aware, calipers are identical but the rotors are 294mm for GTS vs 277mm for GT. I'm not concerned about stiffness or performance as ideally I would prefer an aftermarket forged or lightweight cast set of rims (e.g. enkei M.A.T cast wheels) and 245/40/17 all round for performance. I would like 245/40 as it is closest in rolling diameter to 215/45 and is good compromise between going too wide or too thin. If its a mod I'm doing to the car, the preference is always performance before comfort. I digress, in any case I'm after the 16s because I personally think they look better and I would probably have to roll around on them for a few months before I find the right set of rims for the right price. |

i thought abt swapping with you for a moment but then i kinda like the 16s myself. I wanna at least drive on the 16s for awhile before I decide to get different wheels. Like another poster said im sure you'll find some1 to swap with relative ease.
