Aw, man. I was about to save Cole's job by saying there wasn't a way for the robot to tell them to dig deeper. That's harsh.

Oh, yes, drones can easily be equipped with GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar).

A voltage sensor is standard equipment on most industrial strength drones ....

Preheat misted and then baked. I get you about a thousand gallons of the black paint on the suspension of the trucks at your work if you want. Dip and heat to 280 and you are good for decades.

Is there a way for me to repaint areas so they would end up chemically identical to the factory finish?

Truck paint? Ewww...

Leaf spring/rotor paint. Will last a lifetime!
Not really any way to match factory paint chemistry since it is made for a very specific application system. Even in the system it is designed for the slightest variation in viscosity or solvent content can mean the results will be horrific. It is a surprisingly precise science when it comes to painting vehicles in the last 10 years or so. The day where we could just dump some more xylene in if the coating wasn't going on right are long gone.

The aftermarket stuff is radically different. In reality since the aftermarket paint is not restricted by the international VOC reduction requirements that the OEM coatings are it is actually far superior to the stock. I personally would take quality aftermarket paint over the factory stuff made after the 2012 reduction requirements any day. The good news is that the paint composition and application tech are finally catching up to the environmental requirements and we should see huge improvement over the next 5 years. In other words we should be back to where we were in the late 90s!

Tonight is the night I am recognizing I have a problem with alcohol.

Will be speaking with family and friends in the coming weeks about it. Will look into getting help as well. Thought things would get better when work got busier, but it's staying the same, and maybe even a little worse. Going to be a long, rough road ahead of me...

Well, at least you recognize it. I know family members who refuse to accept they have an issue and simply brush it off until their livers fail.
