I wouldn't bother with Odell Park in Fredericton. A good breakfast place in Fredericton (greasy diner style) is The Cabin restaurant.
For Moncton, I ate at the Tide and Boar and liked it. Last edited by alvin545; 04-12-2016 at 11:51 AM. Reason: spelling |

Anyone aware of the laws out in nova scotia, can I sleep in my car on a campground? Seats are comfy enough that I would have a great sleep plus falling asleep to the stars and waking up to the rising sun out on cape breton in a car, how cool is that?
Anyone know? |

You're allowed, but something tells me you havent slept in a car..... a $30 tent from canadian tire is a big upgrade from that. Another $40 and you have an air mattress....
I've done a lot of travelling by car and sleeping (on the cheap) in campgrounds...

But I was informed yesterday a buddy from work wanted to come with me on the trip so I won't be doing that anymore. We're getting a tent for sure. |

Unfortunately I can't find my list of Shell stops anymore. I used either their site or app to figure out reasonable distances between tanks though. IT wasn't too hard.

Tide and Boar is okay, St. James Gate, The Pumphouse Brewery and the Old Triangle is better. Glad to see your visiting my neck of the woods. Minor note, their hasn't been a ferry between NB & PEI since the Confederation Bridge opened, their is a ferry between PEI and Pictou, NS however.

Couple of time a day, runs between Wood Island, PEI and Pictou, NS. Haven't been on it in about 15 years, now. Hell, haven't had the car down to Cape Breton(no excuse considering that where Dad's from) since we got her. Had her up to Gaspe in January, going back again this summer. Moncton to Montreal it's real familiar with(wife's from Ville St. Laurent)

I did nearly this exact trip for my honeymoon with my wife 2 years ago had a blast absolutely love the east cost. Had a cruise around some amazing roads along the coasts.
Couple of tips: 1 Trans-Canada is fast but boring (Especially through NB) if you can leave it and take lesser roads. 2. Do Cape Breton clock-wise. There is less traffic because you will be on the inside lane. Same amazing views but less RVs lol 3. If you have window tint NS has a ZERO tolerance policy. I got a $250 ticket just for being in the province with tint on my last of 4 days there (I have 35% tint intentially to not draw attention to it). I apologize if any of that was already said. Enjoy the trip sounds like a blast.

The Trans-Canada, especially between here and Fredericton is boring, I always find it the longest part of the drive when we head out to the Father-in-laws in Les Cedres, PQ.
