I do not know of anyone else. However, I will be on them this Sunday! I went with 225/45/17 with no heat cycling and no shaving. Any chance you'd like to share pressures/thoughts?

I have two multi-time national champs in an ND locally this year and some very fast STX cars, so I'll have very good benchmarks. I'm going to run my Bridgestones Saturday and try the Kumhos Sunday.

i have multi nats winners and trophy winners in CS and all the other classes here. lol they were better after a couple weekends, and pressures are 29 front and 27 rear. I just ran my 8th event so im still learning and adjusting my driving and the car every run. with that said im running about 2 seconds slower than those 2 pro drivers in our first 2 events, but learned a lot at the last event and could have been 1 second slower than them if i had 1 more run. About 1 second behind is where i feel the v720 is as compared to the pros on re71's

I don't see any specific listing on this anywhere... is it okay to completely remove license plates in street classes?

Yes. There is no requirement for Street cars to be licensed - you could trailer the car out of the dealer lot, never register it, and run it at events if you want.

All the rules care about is what state the car leaves the factory, and it does so without a license plate.

CAM is the first category to require that cars are licensed and insured for street use.

Kumho V720

In case anyone wanted some information...

I ran the Kumho V720 this weekend for the first time. It was on pace with the BFG and Bridgestone on the asphalt lots where we run, but I think you need to be very precise to make these tires work. They are outstanding under braking, perhaps better than the Bridgestones... but if you over-drive or get off line and need to make corrections, they are not at all as forgiving as the Bridgestone. I plan to test them back-to-back with the Bridgestone in two weeks to help me decide which to run for the upcoming national events in my area.

I'm finding the Kumho needs to be run at substantially lower pressures than the BFG and Bridgestone, but I have not settled on where that should be. I'm going to start at 23f/r for my next event. I run 30f/27r with Bridgestones. I guess my only conclusion thus far is that they don't suck, but I'm closely monitoring wear and pace.

I'm sure you've heard about the delamination issues - I'd strongly recommend against relying on these tires for national competition. I also don't think they can beat BFG/Bridgestone on outright pace (although the Kumhos at least get you in the ballpark, and personally I enjoyed their characteristics).

Good on you for testing though.

Crows Landing Tour this weekend was a ton of fun and it was nice meeting everyone. The course on Saturday was mega fast and was really tricky to maintain as much momentum as possible. Sunday was also very fast and you needed to be very careful not to overcook corner entries and get a good exit down some big straights. The ND took another class win and is proving to be a very quick car.

On Saturday everything seemed to click, I had a good feel for the course and the car was great. I ended Saturday with a .4 lead in CS and I left another .6 out there on a Run 3 that got dropped due to a silly cone.

Sunday did not go as smoothly. While the car still felt great, I just couldn't put it together and landed at 3rd place for the weekend. I struggled with getting a quick run on Run 1 and 2, so I went for it on my 3rd run. Unfortunately I overcooked an entry onto a long fast section and telemetry says it was .9 slower in that section compared to my Run 2. Run 3 was still quicker overall because of the pickup on the rest of the course but that 9 tenths would have been good enough for the win. Oh well, maybe next time

Anyway, here are my videos from the event. I got some interest in watching the fast dirty run from Day 1 so I'll throw that one up too. I am pretty exhausted but I am looking forward to the Pro next weekend. Hope to see you all there.

Here is the dirty run from Day 1-

Thanks for posting the vids Jonathan. That 3rd run you had on day 1 was one for the ages (clean run would have been 1/10th out of the trophies in STX).

Crow's was awesome! It was great meeting all of you and traveling out of my region for the first time. Will definitely be coming back next year.

Loved the course on day 1 and that high speed left turn had me shaking for a while after my first run. Course required A LOT of guts. Day 2 was a decent bit more difficult with 3 or 4 different spots for shifting into 3rd depending on how you wanted to drive it.

I snapped 2 studs swapping my OEM wheels on and off on Sunday and I think it got in my head because I drove horribly on day 2.

Hope to see a bunch of you up in Packwood this July!

Welp. More ND domination this weekend at Wilmington. Course was pretty well suited to them. Several very low speed corners and a long slalom that was slow enough that I never hit the rev limiter. The guys on the 225's probably fared a bit better. The 235's were not the tire to have this weekend, that's for sure.

I'm not surprised at all... I don't know the weather conditions, but it looks like it beat all of BS too. Both Garfields are national champs and the ND is set up well. I have to run against them locally all year, so I've just been fighting for 3rd. I get my chance again this weekend at the DC Prosolo to see how far back I'll be.

I can't believe nobody is talking about the BRZ that won CS at the DC Pro.

Congrats to Steven Berrodin
