So this question goes out to any one with uel uncatted headers. I just finished installing my 1320 headers and op. Car sounds so f'ing ridiculous, nice way of course. But of course sometimes to good of a thing is well to good. My FRS is letting out smoke from the exhaust and I have a whining/whistle sound as well (think of supercharger wHine but a lil more high pitch. Anyone got any advice? Any info would be appreciated! Thanks

Update: it also happens during throttle as well, it's like a chirpy whine. I think I might have to have an exhaust shop tighten up all the bolts to spec and just review the work I did. Last edited by StayPuft209; 04-23-2016 at 01:54 PM. |

I would guess exhaust leak. Try retorqueing everything after a couple heat cycles. It's possible that it's OK when cold but loosens up after getting some heat/expansion.

Lol so I made an appointment at a Subaru dealer to test drive a used brz today. He said he'd call and confirm today. He didn't, so I called the dealer again myself to confirm. They said they had a used FRS but no brz but I could come by whenever to test it.
So I go there two hours later, they copy my license, the guy hops in the car to take it out of its spot, and whoopsie the battery is dead! And they couldn't jumpstart or replace it. :| maybe this is a sign

To be fair, that car could have been in the showroom, where the battery died from having the doors open and lights on. Then it was put out to have another be in the showroom.

Could've but it was also a used 2013 model so I don't know that it was a showroom model.
