Cops asked me how do I like my Scion FR-S, I accidentally let them know it's boosted. Fail on my part.

My BRZ is at the pound for forensics. Will be a few days to a week till I can see her again. Everything in the car was left exactly as it was no damages.
Hopefully my JL stealtj box and amp are still in the trunk. They will be investigating and hopefully give me some type of closure if they get these douches. I will keep you all posted on this. Thanks to everyone who participated in this event lol Special thanks to Kazuya for helping a brother out. He should be ft86 po po |

I think this is a common misconception. If the car is already running, then it can be driven anywhere, as long as the car is not turned off and as long as there is gas left in the car. The only difference between having the key and not having the key is that the car will beep at you to tell you the key can't be detected. The car doesn't actually require the key until the moment the car is started. After that you are free to do whatever you want. |

a tip for next time : lock passenger door from inside, get out and lock the driver door with the physical key inside the remote. That way you can have your car locked while the engine is running. I did that a few time with mine.

Why has nobody said it? Everybody is all "OHHHHHH poor guy". Or maybe that was what the string of deleted posts was? Don't leave your keys in an unattended vehicle EVER and you sure as fuck do not walk away and leave it running in part of the biggest city in Canada (or anyplace for that matter). There is no way you go into a store for "two minutes" even if you think it was. Again doesn't matter because somebody can be in your car in 10 seconds. I have no sympathy for somebody that gets something taken for their own foolishness.

Just to clarify, I did not say that I trust anywhere enough to leave my car running. It's not something I've ever personally been comfortable with.

Ya I didn't think you did. Your statement just realty supports that you can not trust anyplace no matter how safe it may seem. I would not leave my car running unattended in the middle of the freakin' desert since sure as hell the one guy that would take it would be just behind the closest dune!

Meh, I try not to live in fear and give people the benefit of the doubt.
Sure if I had a bunch of uninsured aftermarket parts on my car I wouldn't leave the key in it. My 13 year old daily driver accord in stock trim. I leave it running all the time when I go get a coffee and shit. Especially when it's cold out and can get the heat up. If someone really wanted to take it well shit I guess I'd be inconvenienced 1 day as I wouldn't be able to get to work. Insurance would cover it. And I could look for another DD? And I live in a well populated area with cameras everywhere. So I guess I would be contributing to society as the thief would most certainly be caught.
