If you called a Mustang or a Camaro a muscle car back in the 70s you would have been laughed at. They only seem to have become part of the genre in the last 20 years or so.

Well Ford disagrees with you, hence why it now has an IRS and the s550 is now global.

That does not make it a muscle car. They may cater to the modern definition but handling was never ever part of the historical equation.

I'll join the @Tcoat 's camp .... (on this one ...).

Wiki says:

"Muscle car is an American term used to refer to a variety of high-performance automobiles.[1] The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines muscle cars as "any of a group of American-made 2-door sports coupes with powerful engines designed for high-performance driving."[2] A large V8 engine is fitted in a 2-door, rear wheel drive, family-style mid-size or full-size car designed for four or more passengers. Sold at an affordable price, muscle cars are intended for street use and occasional drag racing.[3][4][5][6] They are distinct from two-seat sports cars and expensive 2+2 GTs intended for high-speed touring and road racing".

Now, back-in-the-day , this engine ruled (except when it got stung by a Hudson Hornet).

OK.......I'll crawl back in my hole ......

Seems like the only one trying to portray their opinion as fact is you. Car is mediocre in traffic? Your opinion. I have found mine to be quite easy to operate. Brake pedal is woeful? Seems fine to me.

We're okay with mediocrity? Whatever minor flaws this car has do not detract from the experience I have driving it. So nah, I don't see this car as being mediocre. Of course, that's just my opinion, and that's all it is. You act as if we should all see how mediocre the twins are and that we should feel awful for driving it.

Sorry, nope. I enjoy my car and already have an attachment to it. Guess that's a bad thing, huh?

You clearly do not have an attachment to your car and you have made it clear several times that you extremely dislike, if not outright hate your car, so what exactly is stopping you from trading in your FR-S for a Corolla as Tcoat suggested, and saving even more money towards that dream 911 of yours? For all the complaining you do, you don't really take much action.

He is like 20 years old is what is stopping him. Need the street cred a Porsche will give him. Can't be seen in a Corolla although strangely enough he has said he would rather be driving one. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...1&postcount=70
He is just bored with his car and you can actually watch the transformation if you go read his post history.
I support anybody that wants to change but this constant misrepresentation of opinion as fact is wearing thin fast.

Heavily in demand and hard to find almost everywhere? We can see why you are so upset, being that wrong so long has to take a toll.

How about a simple header/tune combo along with a 4.55 final drive...should wake the car up without too much added risk or expense

LOL Are you planning on buying a 911 after bitching that the FRS cost way more than it should and is so expensive? I mention age because a $80 to !100K car is not usually an immediate goal for a twentysomthing. A dream, ambition, a wish yes but he is probably decades away and with his obvious lust for Corollas that is what he should be getting until ten. Was not applying the 20 year comment across the board just to him.
