It is a big world. Militaries are not just for defending your own soil.
I did UN Peacekeeping in Beirut and the Sinai and stood guard against the Soviets in Germany back in the 70s and things were relatively "peaceful" back then.
The US may not make it known but they were not the only country involved in the actions in the middle east over the last 20 years. There were in fact 32 countries that have participated in one or more of the actions.

Pictures cost about $7 to develop. I made $33 a day. You did not run around taking pics of what were to you normal mundane events. Shit sounds weird now but back then I didn't think anything of it and it was just another day picking up the GF before I knocked off work for the day because I was in the neighborhood.

Yeah, just kinda seems like you guys could just sit back and let the US foot the bill. I mean, if Canada hadn't gone to Afghanistan, I'm pretty sure we would've sent more troops or whatever to make it work. If Canada wants to help make the world better(or something) that's fine but is Canada really gonna commit top something the US isn't already involved in? Just send maple syrup and beer and no one will complain you guys didn't show up to the fight
