Gearbox and LSD bushings and mountings

Got my gearbox and LSD bushings and mountings done locally,

Superb service delivery from Lee, who does this part time,
He does bushings and mountings because of this passion for cars and motorsport, and not a business / profit driven man,

He is based in Olivedale - Randburg area,
Super friendly and knowledgeable,

He's done more than 30 Toyota 86's in the Gauteng area,
and has also worked on Clare Vales Turbo BRZ(Who competes nationally in SA Superdrift),
He has done authentic R&D on these products.

Costs approx R1,500
(He has charged others less (Like Deef and gang ),
but his margins/profits are very thin) ...
As I said, he does this because of passion and not business.

There is a SIGNIFICANT improvement in traction and gear changes,
Its damn scary as to how much more DIRECT gear changes are and the improved traction you can feel on launch / take off.

In terms of value for money, this is one of the best mods I have done to date,

If you import these goodies (Ie. the Whiteline equivalents) and get them fitted you will pay MUCH MUCH More...
The $/ZAR exchange rate is too volatile at this stage to do a calculation
(Plus i'm not exactly sure about whiteline part numbers at this stage to compare and do a detailed analysis).

Looking forward to provide some tangible feedback in the form of improved results on a 1/4 times (Improved traction on launch),
and improved track lap times (Improved response of LSD around corners/bends).

NB. He also does other mounts and bushings, like engine mounts, sway bar bushings etc.

Inbox me if you would like his contact number.
(I have his personal cell number).

Here's some odd pics I have,
(Note that these pics does not include all the parts, wish I had a chance to take pics of all the parts he changed, but I was in a rush).

Parts missing from these pics are 2 more polyurethane pieces, and alloy discs,
Not sure if I am missing anything else from what he did / his product offering.

If you have got your gearbox and diff mounts and bushings done by Lee,
Please feel free to share your experience and feedback on this mod.

Cheers

Dude this sounds super cool! At the next Michelin Cup event, is there any chance I could respectfully and gently take your baby through a gear or 2, just to see how it feels . If you like, you can also give my stock one a go, to gain a new appreciation for all the enhancements you have

Any changes to daily ride comfort?

Pls share his number with me.

I have the transmission and 2x rear bushings and those do make a difference I can feel, so keen to do more... Mine were part of a package cost so not sure if individual costs... But they're whiteline bushings, so not cheap!

Would dig to do more on mine, and I agree... They're the smallest, cheapest mod you can do to improve this car.

Haha of course man! You are more than welcome to take my car for a drive anytime,

In terms of...

'respectfully' - for me that only means not getting a speeding ticket

Not sure if 'gently' will work - Our cars are designed to be driven hard to the limit so you are welcome to hoon with it,

If only I found out about this earlier

Sigh will let you know my feedback with the whiteline positive traction kit and gearshift kit...

Been running the "Lee bushes & inserts" for a couple of years now and I agree with everything that's been said - they're awesome.

I'll PM you Julian's number - he is the owner.

Its basically as you come off of Oukaap se Weg, take the first right at the robots and then immediately right again on to a little gravel road.

Give him a call first though so make an arrangement so he is expecting you - thanks to incompetent Subaru dealerships, they are always super busy.

What kind of work do you need done?
