They are race size tires named with road car sizing. Which is a bit stupid.

Anyone running the Jackson Racing oil cooler?
I'm looking for a recommendation for a thin socket to tighten it. I am having some minor leaking and I am pretty sure it is because it's not tight enough. The socket I have doesn't fit in the VERY SMALL gap so i was very careful and gentle tightening it so I wouldn't round the edges. Anyway I'm thinking after a bunch of oil changes it might have loosen a bit and I want a socket that will fit over it properly so I can tighten it properly.

Hey CSG Mike, what are your thoughts on putting the Edelbrock blower on a track-only car? Michele is running one on her racecar and haven't heard about any engine problems yet, but no idea how much whp she's running.

Just another data point; it's not perfect because the cars are not set up with identical supporting mods. I don't even know if they're running the same race fuel. On the flip side, neither car is overheating, since they both clearly finished the race without issue. This bodes well for both setups! If you want tried and proven, I'm still gonna recommend the JRSC; the Edelbrock is still a new player in the game. On the other hand, if you want to potentially have more power, purchase the Edelbrock from CSG, and you'll still have our full support. |

I've been extremely happy with Enkei RPF1's in 17x8.5 +45mm (which are 1.5lbs lighter each than the 6UL's) with 245/40-17 Direzza Star Specs. I daily them, drive straight to the track, hot lap, and drive home. The assembly is only 4oz heavier than stock at each corner, the SS's are cheap enough to bring one to the track as a spare (sits high in the spare well), clears the AP Racing Sprint Kit up front with no spacer, and are a joy to drive. |

Ugh, what a crazy week. The event was awesome. Even with temps in the 30's, snow the day before, and some slick water/ice in T3 & T7 I had an awesome time and still managed to turn condition respectable 1:21.2's... before discovering my freshly installed Perrin Oil Cooler thermo-plate started leaking. Only lost about 1/4qt during the session and it was all contained on the airbox and undertray so no safety issue. Didn't leak with normal rpm's so the car made it home but my concern was more about pressure loss. Luckily it was only in one session and I caught it. (Side note, anyone know how tight to make this thing? Thought it was pretty tight, didn't want to crush the gaskets/O-rings, and it made over 300mi before it finally leaked with no prior indication and doesn't leak during normal driving.) Got home late Sunday night, Monday there was a death in the family so it was down to FL for a few days to take care of things. Couldn't make the following week but a few friends were there for NASA comp school/race. I spent the weekend working around the house. I'm scheduled for Palmer on the 2nd then maybe Thompson or Lime Rock towards the end of the month. |
