I'm 49 and I replaced my Daily Driver, Mom's '89 Corolla (Thanks Mom RIP) with the FR-S and I love it. The FR-S gets good gas milage and is practical (has backseats and a trunk).
I still own my 2000 Tacoma V6 4x4 for camping and off road. I love it on the open Highway and in the dirt but not around town, MPG is not great and sitting up too high. This is my third Toyota truck. The first 2 trucks were 2 wheel drive.
The FR-S is perfect my midlife crisis. I get the sports car I always wanted and I get the practicality of a Daily Driver.:happy0180:

I'll be 35 when I pick mine up next year. I think I've earned this at this point in my life. We have a family car, but this will be my DD.

My explanation is that this is the "return to whatever the heck I want to drive life improvement project". BK (before kids) I drove little red sports cars (MR2, others). Now that they are older they can either drive themselves or walk 'cause Dadhawk's gonna drive what Dadhawk's gonna drive!
Isn't the official mid-life crisis car a Corvette? Btw, my dad is 55 and when he bought his WRX, I told him it was his mid-life crisis car and he stared me down and shook his head.

Totally, 31 here, but makes me feel 16 all over again.

41 here. Actually wasn’t even looking at getting a second car (I work from home) until my wife took in our Honda CR-V in for service and noticed a BRZ article in a car magazine. We ended up putting a deposit on the BRZ that night!
We were looking for a sports car on and off for a few years and just didn’t find anything that blew us away until now.

Boring cars suck. I've never owned a 4 door vehicle and I have no desire to. I put an infant seat in my MX-3!
My 2004 Evo VIII would like to have a talk with you about "boring" 4 door cars!

oh my Evo...how I miss you!
