I'll be done paying off my FR-S next June, but I've also been leasing a Prius C for our daily commuter car since November 2015. Our mini-as$hole hybrid actually lowered my husband and my auto insurance rate since the Prius became our primary.

I'm planning on just be keeping my FR-S as our fun car and then continuing to lease our daily commuters from here on out. Dunno if I'll go for another Prius in November 2018, but it's kinda' fun seeing 40-45mpg on our daily commutes.

You know, I've had this possibly crazy idea of finding a salvage title Prius and turning it into an auto-x project car since I don't want to mess with the FRS too much.

Just the thought of getting crazy MPG numbers while having fun running around cones is too funny.

Luckily, interest hasn't been *too* big of a burden since I've been applying aggressive payments each month. Now that I learned how to play the game, its going to be much more favorable for me when it's time for a new car (or house).

You're much better off with a credit card (and never carry a balance.) If you're too tempted, do AmEx where you HAVE to pay it all off.

My credit score went down when we paid off our last house - not having a mortgage was interpreted as "must be a renter." Woo.

The real trick is to be just as aggressive with saving money, so the next car you pay cash.

So, my earlier mention of my friend's wife today has made me remember a much darker, slightly more... Malicious(?) side of myself... And this is easily the worst thing I've done in my life, and have only told 2 or 3 people about this.

Many years ago (actually only 3 years), I found myself out in Gagetown, New Brunswick on, we'll call it business. I had met a girl, and being my arrogant, cock-sure self made sure to make an absolute ass of myself on first impression. Talking shit about how a friend was dressed, while myself had a pant leg tucked into my socks.

Anyhow, as the week went on, I ended up talking more and more with this girl. We had a lot in common, and kind of hit it off when the bullshit of nervousness/arrogance (one in the same, in a young guy, no?) wore off. We went to the liquor store, and played a drinking game of in order to get the truth out of each other, you'd down a shot, then ask a question. I was much better at lying/avoiding truths back then. I came to find out a lot about the kind of person she was, and the kind of person she wanted to be.

She told me she had recently come out of a bad relationship. Her ex liked to sit on the couch, and never do anything at all. Like their fun night would be ordering in food and watching TV, every single weekend. And I was kind of in the same situation, too. So things just kind of clicked naturally.

We had a good Friday night, and decided to borrow one of our friend's cars and go into town on Saturday, and see what Fredericton had to offer. Well, what a surprise, things kept on going extremely well. We ended up hooking up on that Saturday night, and things weren't weird the next day. Then, sunday night, we decided to go out to the club with some of the guys and girls we were with the following Friday.

As luck would have it, we got the following weekend off. And I dirty danced the fuck out of her that night. Took her to bed, slid into home plate and everything was gravy until Saturday evening, she came to me in tears, talking about how her fiance would be so upset when he found out about it. Wait, wut?

Turns out, her "ex" was less of an ex, and more of a person she was engaged to. I felt such an empty pit in my stomach, so upset with myself for doing something like that. Eventually (as in a couple hours later) the guilt faded, and I cared less and less.

We were around each other for 5 more weeks, and I continued sleeping with her, with absolutely zero regrets. The kicker is that when she told me that she was going to go back to her fiance, I actually convinced her to break things off with him, so that we could continue seeing each other.

After we both went home, I saw her twice more, and haven't spoken with her in about 2.5 years. The level of scum that I reached at that period in my life still hasn't left me, and I'm truly haunted by it. Easily the lowest I've ever been in terms of morals, and the consequences could have been so severe for me at the time if anyone found out we were sleeping together. Which, as I later learned, everyone actually did know, and our bosses knew, so I wasn't as slick as I thought. I suppose the puppy dog eyes of a 21 year old aren't the easiest thing to hide when you're looking at a girl you fancy.
