You do have a point. I recall threads on here where people's steering wheel look rotting away due to the salt from sweaty palms.

I have a pair of Mechanix gloves I wear every time I drive. The natural oils and jelly doughnut residue on a person's hands (I'm a chubby guy) really does a number on the leather or pleather or whatever a steering wheel is wrapped with and let's face it, this isn't a Mercedes, if that is real leather on the wheel it's likely as thin as Toybaru could get away with so it's extra weak.

Whe you hear I installed a quick release steering wheel and pop it off and sit it up on the dash every time I park like a few of the F&F douche bags around here, please do clown on me mercilessly.

Quit trying to out think the engineers and just drive the car.

I wish mine could pop off, make getting in the car easier. I want my airbag though

It's not salt from sweaty palms, the first production run of steering wheels had a bad top coat. The chemistry was off and it never cured properly. Mine still gets sticky when it gets hot in the summer. I kept it because the replacement material didn't feel the same. Too stiff.

Yeah, a little sweat on the leather isn't going to do any serious damage in a couple of years, if it's properly cured.

That said, it wouldn't kill some of you folks to wipe down your steering wheels every once in a while, you sweat monsters.

It's calling my name... I did a future forecast on budget for next month and I can slap away the rest of the car loan + regular bills and still have money left over.

Soooo tempting but must resist.

Do you have a shop lined up for those rear bushings? They're kind of a pain in the donger, and it might be worthwhile just to do the rear LCAs instead.

Got a few shops that are highly recommended and praised by other local Twin owners. I'll look into LCAs since you brought it up.

Pulled up the pic of your car that I colored on (still have it on my computer). 20mm drop is subtle but noticeable! Oh. Em. Gee. I'm kinda giddy for some reason.

Yeah, my boss noticed the day after I did it on my car. I didn't mention to him that I was going to lower it, but he spotted it anyways.
