I have just phoned my dealer to be told that they wont be getting either my car or their demonstrator until mid August (week of 20-24th) according to the toyota ordering system. it had previously been on the system is being in next week when i asked a couple of months ago.
That was on an order placed back in the first week of December.

Anybody else heard anything yet?

Yes.. unfortunately my arrival date is the around the 23rd August
Im going to pick it up/have it registered with the dvla for September 1st instead though - puts it on a 62 plate. No point in having a new car on a new plate.. for 1 bl**dy week.

Someone else who also has an order in (ordered the day after me) is having theirs in July!.. but they are having bog standard, no upgrades.. knew i shouldnt have ticked all the boxes..

edit to add.. on a positive note ive won tickets to Goodwood as well, and a drive of the GT86 up the hill ! .. however this could just make waiting another 2 months all the more harder..

Hello 'jacks! As a fan and past owner of the TR2-3-6, AH 100-4/3000MII/Sprite, Elva Courier, and early RX-7 the Scion FR-S suits me just fine. I read about the mods and think, really? This build is simply the best for me outright, stock everything, no muss and no fuss. If you have to wait for your choice drive line and Colo(u)r you will be very pleased. I chose the AT in whiteout and after Opticoat just rinse, spritz with detailer and pat dry - amazing - and nobody has said to me "Hey, I don't like that car". The only "issue" is the inability to resist accelerating into every twist and my reluctance to end any trip without a few times around the block. My neighbors take pictures and line the curbs to cheer.

If you want racing green and wired knock-offs, well, more power to you.

Get ready to have some fun!

just checking out the Toyota blog and a reply has just gone up (not my question)

Hi Simon,
Great news, we can now confirm that Toyota GB is currently looking at offering a range of GT86 TRD accessories for sale in the UK early next year. Further details are not available at the moment, but we’ll update you as soon as we know more.
-----------

Great news indeed.
I contacted fensport but they have "sold out" of all their TRD bodykits and exhausts..however i could pay upfront and add to their "next order" and get it in 6 weeks.. hmmm .. let me think about that.. pay you £1k for £600 worth of trd.jp parts (at current JPN - GBP exchange rate) that you'll just ship in on a boat and i still have to wait and fit myself?
.. would rather wait and have my local Mr T dealership supply and fit it for me all in warranty with no hassle.

Did you get Goodwood tickets through your dealer or win the 'Real Drivers Wanted' competition on the Toyota website?

These latest replies have double depressed me.

A. Looks like the Goodwood winners have already been informed (not me then!)

B. My Gt86 might not arrive until August

yeah won the drive from the website .. looks like quite a few missed out as well.. http://blog.toyota.co.uk/real-driver...ands-want-gt86

i received an email about it with a number to call at the weekend, and it stated any unclaimed prizes by 15th June would be re-allocated out.. so still a chance, assuming some people may not be able to make it on the thursday..

fingers crossed.

yeah i asked about other 86s, and my local garage will still be getting their demo in July, and someone who ordered a day after me is also getting theirs in July.. but theirs is std in grey.
think the options i chose [alcantara, flappy paddles, touch and go] arent helping the speed of my order progression..

fingers crossed you have more luck.

I can confirm the GT86 is in the UK, and there's loads of them....

I went for a bike ride today and saw the below.

Sorry about the quality, it was from my phone. The red looks gorgeous, but I'm sold on the Orange. I saw Orange, Red and White. Possibly a few blue ones in the distance. Eitherway, Orange seems mighty popular and I honestly don't think anyone will be disappointed with it. I'm sold on that colour.

A few had registration plates it seemed, and a fair few didn't. But I honestly don't think you guys will be waiting too much longer..... the one I took a pic of is ready for delivery.

I know I said there was loads, and you can spot one or two more in that pic, but it was the only place I was tall enough to be able to reach over the fence to get a pic! First time I've seen them in the flesh and they're sexy as fuck! Spread out all over the place though, but trust me there was loads!

Ahaha, Faz, why thanks.

It is Portbury Docks, near Portishead. There's a cycle track that runs right past it, I use it frequently when Cycling from Bristol to Novatech to pick up Computer goodies. Although I got more then I bargained for yesterday!

It's GV12 (D/G) YX. I think it was from memory.. I didn't look at the plates that long, I was more interested in the curves and lines.

eta - looks like a white one behind (poking out of the roof of the orange one)! .. very low roof line to the cars around it ..
