I hope Ford forecast that jump!
Otherwise there was a Purchasing/Materials VP someplace going "ShitShitShitShitShitShitShit". An urgent demand for some 50K or 60K uncontracted parts would have cost them big time!

I bet the chart will flip the other way after this year with the release of the new Camaro.

Its going to have to be amazing, because the trend, on that graph at least, is fairly flat.

So was Mustangs until they released the 2015. Also keep in mind the Camaro hasn't had any meaningful update since the 2009 model while the Mustang had a mid-cycle engine upgrade for 2011.

I have no doubt the new Camaro will outsell the Mustang this year.

They rolled them out quick too. With the Mustangs it took quite a while from official release before dealers had GT's sitting out. Everything they were getting were pre orders. The 2 different dealers i went to look at the 2016 Camaro SS looked like storage lots. They both were flooded with them. Neither had a problem starting one up and letting me check them out.

Most likely Chevy already is feeling the burn Hence why they added a turbo 2.0 to the camaro 1LT and 2LT line after Ford announced the ecoboost. It most likely won't flip but will simply catch up with ford sales when the refresh arrives, but this is uncharted territory with that many sales for the new S550

I was considering a 5.0 for my next; so when I was in Florida I rented one for a couple of weeks to get a real feel for what they are all about. I really liked the power but hated pretty much everything else about it.

Its hard to describe, but it felt like the body was separated from the suspension. Wobble and body roll was unreal. I tried cornering it hard and taking long sweeping corners at speed - it never felt connected to the road in any way shape or form.

Mustang will not be my next vehicle.

Was it a Performance Pack? If not, that's why you're experiencing that. There's some suspension packs Ford has that really make the car a monster. This is Ford's first stab at IRS so it's a little sloppier than most, but can be tweaked. I loved the 2016 GT Premium with the PP that I drove. Great visibility, comfortable seats (cooled seats too!), and plenty of power to make the daily drive very enjoyable. Wife even loved it too so I think that's a convincing "yes" to get one at some point.

Not gonna happen, I bet most new buyer gets mustang for that super highly styled exterior & interior... (Not saying they are styled amazingly just how they match the car..)

New Camaro is surely nice but just that look along will make lots buyer pick mustang. I'm talking about moms, dads & your neighbor. Not enthusiast.

Agreed. The new mustang exterior is pretty radical compared to the previous generation. The new camaro on the otherhand looks quite similar to the older models.

Currently in the process of trading mine in for a 2014 Mustang GT paying 22k for the car only has 9k miles and there giving me 16k on the BRZ plus I get to keep mods. My airbag was deployed in an accident so the trade in value is gonna suck everywhere.

I feel they threw all their design efforts towards the new corvette because that things looks damn sexy. Their Camero wouldn't make me turn a bats eye.
