I'd assume they'd be similar to the Camry's?

If Toyota Australia had not informed dealerships then the dealerships were just telling you/me/us what they knew. Maybe it was only a recent decision by TA to bring across some non ADR required gear. Doesn't make it bullshit.

Geez ur a knob sometimes dude. We haven't bs'd you at all. Why would we want to limit our own sales? All we've done is pass on information that was given to us when we enquired about it. Toyota have their own schedule on when they are making things happen and no the dealers are not always consulted.

And by the way, what's wrong with us making a profit on what we sell? Us dealers are in business to make money. How do you expect to get paid if your boss doesn't make a profit?

Since when is it a crime to sell a product for what it's actually worth?
So if we don't immediately discount our products we're bsing the public?

Get real mate.

I know some unscrupulous dealers may have taken advantage of you in the past but don't tar us all with the same brush please. We've been in business since 1958 and have an excellent reputation and the same family still owns and operates the business.

To the guys in the know, any idea when the reverse cam will be available?
Also I'm guessing it just shows up on the GTS screen?

Where does the camera go and will it require cutting (eg be ugly)?

I love your nick' mate lol. Anyway, in answer to your question, we haven't received the fitout info yet but presumably, for the time being, i'd say you're right. On other models it's possible to have the display fitted to the rear view mirror like in the FJ Cruiser but it can also be fed through the 6.1" display as an aftermarket option currently.

The camera itself would most likely go under the boot lid extremity like most of the others, that's my best guess at the moment.

Hmm I might consider a camera or reverse sensors. Depends on if they ruin the aesthetics. Looks like a late July delivery is not a bad thing.

If u r buying GTS, get reverse cam for a cleaner look.

If GT, get sensors to keep cost low (unless u plan to get a head unit with a screen)

That's a smart opinion guys.

From personal experience with both, if it's within the budget and the camera becomes an option, get both, as they both have their advantages and disadvantages but when combined they make it damn near impossible to hurt anyone or scratch/dent your car, provided you're paying attention.

It's good to have both and I have both on my Odyssey.

But if I have to select one it will always be the camera. There are still guess work for sensors alone.

Let us know once the pricing on the camera's come out. What is a reverse camera on a Hi-lux worth?
