Yesterday I pulled the factory radio out to find a rattle behind the dash. Turned out it wasn't the radio but rather the center vent assembly. The plastic vent was barely making contact with the dash board and would rattle while driving. A small piece of foam insulation fixed it. I also plugged up the hole in the rear fender wells behind the rear seat. Used peel & seal and sealed up the entire area. Car's much quieter now.

I took some detailed pictures of the rear speakers with measurements for when I eventually make custom fiberflass enclosures to replace the rear speakers. I'm going to run an active 4-way system with stereo mid-bass subs in the rear speaker location and a mix of linear and minimum phase EQ with linear phase crossovers. Will post a new thread when this project starts.

Temporary Towel Armrest

Local store was having a sale on bath towels (buy one at regular price and get second towel for half price), so I bought 4 black ones for $16.16, folded them together (as shown below), and it WORKS (pun intended) fine, for me , until I get around to purchasing a real one.

Lol that's pretty rough, it's not like he'll NEVER BE ABLE to use the towels for something else.

4 Towels for 16 bucks is a pretty good price too.

I’m now guessing my “Temporary Towel Armrest” submission will not make it into the ft86club DIY Guides ???

“A towel, [The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy] says, is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have. Partly it has great practical value. You can wrap it around you for warmth as you bound across the cold moons of Jaglan Beta; you can lie on it on the brilliant marble-sanded beaches of Santraginus V, inhaling the heady sea vapors; you can sleep under it beneath the stars which shine so redly on the desert world of Kakrafoon; use it to sail a miniraft down the slow heavy River Moth; wet it for use in hand-to-hand-combat; wrap it round your head to ward off noxious fumes or avoid the gaze of the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal (such a mind-boggingly stupid animal, it assumes that if you can't see it, it can't see you); you can wave your towel in emergencies as a distress signal, and of course dry yourself off with it if it still seems to be clean enough.”
