There is someone on here who had his BRZ covered by track insurance (WolfpackS2K).

A friend of mine is in the middle of a claim with Lockton, his TTRS has about $25k worth of damage and it was covered with no problems. One thing to mention, he has about 100 HPDE's under his belt, is very cautious, and has never damaged a car at the track. The point is it can happen to anyone so like others said be prepared in case it happens or if you can't or don't want to get insurance make sure you can live with writing the car off.

Does he buy coverage for every event? When I was using it was ~$200 for an event (whether it was 1 day or 2, I think same price for 3 also) for ~$22,000 coverage

I get how it can be worth it but if you are doing dozens of events a year I think it is kind of cost prohibitive.

He buys multi-event packages, I buy individually since I don't do more than 2 or 3 events a year.

2 of his cars cost between 60 and 70k and I couldn't afford to destroy my brz so a couple of extra hundred per event is worth it to us even if it means doing one or two less events per year. Even with the coverage he still has to pay over $6000 to cover the deductible which takes care of his track budget for the year.

I put it under the "you gotta pay to play" heading.

Do you go to NJMP? Thunderbolt is awesome.

I was supposed to go to lightning this sunday but I missed the reg deadline and I haven't prepped my car for the season either

Very glad to hear this precaution actually works

I agree, but the risk of losing the daily is not an option atm. I am in the middle of a rather unconventional track rat build that I won't worry over as much, but until then, I'm stuck in that pay to play venue... I was quoted $180 for one or two day events (same price) at Buttonwillow with $28k of coverage. That still costs more than the track registration fee, and makes this not a viable option for more than a handful of events each year. Interested in the annual periodic coverage rather than paying by the event when I step up my game.

I've never been there, I won't get into the reasons why but I really have no desire to go there either (it's personal and has nothing to do with the track). I'll be at Palmer in June with Audi Club.

My goal has been to drive as many different tracks as I can and I've been trying to make the ones that are a distance from here a priority. So far I've been to Mid Ohio, VIR, Summit Point, Watkins Glen, Lime Rock, and Pocono (at night).

You lucky, over here in northeast track day is like 250+ a day
