I had an awful experience with a couple dealerships. The law is on your side, but unfortunately if they don't want to honor the warranty they just sit back and do nothing. It's up to you to enforce it, which can be a giant PITA.
As others have said, much of it comes down to your service advisor and how much of a customer-centric mindset they have.

Yeah, that's kind of what I was getting at. I know that legally installing an axle-back exhaust (for example) cannot void the warranty on, say, the HPFP... It would be up to the dealer to PROVE that the muffler caused the failure. However, if you get resistance from the dealer you really have three choices: 1) try another dealer 2) fight the dealer through SoA and/or the legal system 3) Bite the bullet and pay for repairs yourself.

My hpfp was just replaced. Issue was vapor leak, I smelled raw gas at start up.
Car has 45k miles, hpfp not covered by power train warranty. CPO did cover
Hpfp, with $100 deductible.

I'm assuming you bought a "classic" or gold extended warranty with your CPO subaru. The 7yr/100k CPO warranty has no deductible.
