I understand wanting the best price when driving so much but I'd personally rather not detonate. In my experience quik trip is typically the best priced top tier fuel in Phoenix.

Similar setup as you: JDL UEL, stage 2 tune.
Ohh kewl, I did another "dyno" run today. 3rd gear pull, into 4th. 3rd looked fine but 4th had some 1.3 flkc =o. http://www.datazap.me/u/hlhachiroku/...zoom=1949-2217 Have you done any fiddling with your tune at all? Do you have any logs I could look at? I was going to start messing with mine this friday/weekend add that JDL map Shiv posted to, maybe get some better results, haha. I want to upgrade my midpipe too =\ Was looking at the GodSpeed one(change my catback from what I have), from the OP back, only a few hundred bucks. Might be much louder then I currently have tho. Love that rumble that I have now, so deep.

Haven't modified the tune much besides load limits and quiet start. Probably could use more tweaking but since I'm basically not knocking, I haven't felt pressed to put time into it.

I don't have a datazap account setup yet but I should figure that out sometime...

I think I got a bad batch of gas last night when I filled up from half a tank. Previous couple weeks I'd been .97-1 IAM at first running 91 Oct. Stage 1 as I had remaining bits of 90 and 91 from a trip out of town that were at the bottom of a 93 fill-up once back in Austin. A day or so before installing my JDL UEL I bumped to 93 Stage 1 and then 93 Stage 2 immediately after the install.

A week or so it's doing great, .97-1 IAM and I run that first tank on the UEL down to half last night and fill up on the way home. This morning it feels off, coinciding with this being the first truly warm day since I've been running OFT.

I hooked it up at lunch running errands and noticed very high intake temp 5-10F above what my dash showed as ambient temp and my IAM was dropped to .7 and I saw it rise to .82 by the time I got back to work. On the way home it was back down to .7 and only went back up to .71 and I could really feel it. I did a short log and sure enough I caught some knock in the 3-3.5K range, damnit. Gonna drop back to 91 Stage 2 and see if that clears it up.

It also looks like, based on my ECU number, that I will want flash back to stock, un-marry and get the dealer to flash in a later version and try this again

Flashing the 91 tune wont help if knock is below 5000 rpm as the only difference between 91\93 tune is timing above 5000.

you will need to mod tune as per the tune tweaks link below , see the links to moding tune for 91 fuel

the oft tunes are based on latest compatable stock rom for your car so getiing delaer reflash will not help with your knock. Also all stock tunes are the same its jist utility bug fixes no power or performance mods right up to latest F40C roms

The knock just started based on some suspicious timing. You mod for transient issues that might change again with the next tank of gas from a different source?

The dealer reflash would be because the stock flash and the mod flashes I'm using are based on versions from 2013 that have the injector seal failure issue. I'm looking to correct for that and not have the motor pop and then have to explain why the OFT isn't responsible, or do all the flashes fix these issues as well?

As far as I have been reading even the "stock" flash from the OFT guys/gals fixes the issue with the seal failure. So that includes all the ofs maps from them. I could be wrong, but I swore I read that somewhere here on the forum ^.^

Yeah, I want to say that I've read as much but I've also read it suggested getting the the updated OEM flash that fixes it and any other issue. I'd want to know for sure.

You don't have to drive it before you write your stock ROM to the OFT. You battery should be fine assuming you haven't let it sit for an extended period of time without running it. I suggest you take a look at this thread, the "First Use" section in particular:

if your cars original ecu calibration was

400C, 700C, A00C, A01C,B00C the oft rom you flash will actually be a B01C version (or the equitant D version if your auto). even thoug it may be labelled with your original calid, ie with the oft rom your already on the latest flash.

note you may see your old rom calid like A00C or something but the actual rom in car is based on B01C.
