I did call Clarion who wouldn't really give an specifics, they said I had to email SOA about it... yeah... but the guy did have a Legacy himself and was hopeful about a May update that would include Mirrorlink. Not sure if that will extend to the BRZ but I'm going to see what additional information I can get. If they put Mirrorlink we would be able to mirror Android/iOS apps and ot would have Waze functionality anyway so that would be bliss.

I had a Kenwood DDX471HD in my Fit for a few years before I got rid of it for my BRZ, and that double-din spoiled me. I'm tremendously disappointed in the Starlink in my 2016 - I really only use the USB input with my phone running Spotify.

I tried using three different USB drives with music on them but every single one of them, all from different manufacturers, would skip every thirty seconds or so and jump two seconds forward.

My USB works OK, I just wish it would mirror my apps from my phone like most new radios.

Same here. A friend of mine recently bought a new Golf R and it has Apple Carplay. I was sweating with envy.

Yeah standby I'll have to upload them somewhere that doesn't degrade the quality.

Awesome, thanks for the info! I will update the OP later today. The FCC Info suggests it runs on 12v but I'm sure the boards have to be running on 5v that's pretty standard with computers I would think.

At top left, there is 9 pins unsoldered..
there should have a ground where I highlighted.. (A or B)
can you give me the pin (A or B) where the ground is ?

I cannot see the trace well in the picture..

if i'm right.. I will know where is the VCC, so you will be able to test it.

Checking the FCC site, under external photos, it looks like there are 4 models that basically have the same inner workings. The PF3547, PF3688, PF3636 and PF3689. If you look at the internal photos, the picture you posted looks like exactly the same board as the one on the FCC's site.

I did a search for all 4 models and it turns out they are variances found in the 2015-2016 Outback and Legacy. There are obvious feature differences between theirs and ours, but maybe they share the same components and maybe they can even take different programming. Either way I ordered the factory service manual http://www.pacparts.com/part.cfm?sku=823VP-SI0356LD for the PF3689. Maybe it has some info that can be used.

My primary interest is adding RCA outputs to this receiver so that aftermarket amps can be used without using noisy line level converters: https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Subaru+...ut+Mod/17985/1

Adding Mirrorlink would be awesome as well...

And just to add to that, it looks like it has two 2 GB Samsung DDR3-1333 K4B2G1646Q-BPH9 RAM modules for a total of 4 GB, which isn't bad...

Here is the data sheet for the RAM: http://www.samsung.com/semiconductor...-BP_Rev101.pdf
