BRZ Bumper to FR-S Bumper

So I recently purchased a '16 Subaru BRZ Limited (Black) and thought it was the greatest purchase... until a week later when I began noticing the FR-S/GT-86 on the road with their clean grills minus the horrid BRZ "mustache." That in mind, I had a few questions someone is hopefully able to answer.

This afternoon, I visited my local Subaru dealership and spoke with a rep about the possibility to switch out my front bumper for a FR-S one. Was told it was entirely possible and we ended up finding this piece online:

http://www.discountbodyparts.com/det...PS010343P.html

Now, I noticed the material states "plastic" and I asked the rep what the current BRZ bumper was made of: turns out it's yet another style of plastic, just a bit reinforced. That said, would the above work properly with a BRZ frame? They're almost identical bodies so I wouldn't see what the difference would be other than fog lights and bit of extra visibility to the top of my headlights. If it's not suitable though, what's a good alternative as nobody seems to be selling their FR-S bumper standalone.

In addition, with the switch of the bumpers, looked into replacing the Subaru badges with 86 badges found here:

http://koreanautoimports.com/3d-soli...rs-subaru-brz/

Does anyone have experience with the company above or seen the badges in real life to note if they're a high quality product or if I should look into legitimate Toyota badges?

No experience with that site/mfg but I run an FRS bumper on my BRZ in the winter to keep my lip minty fresh.

Either it will fit great, or it's a low quality party that fits bad.

Edit: Also no reason to bump after a few hours.

bumpers are interchangeable and will fit fine. you'll just have a small gap in the inside corner of your BRZ headlights and you'll also have nowhere to plug in your lower drl's. and then the frs signals would be unused since yours are inside the headlights already.

Alright do you recall where you purchased yours personally? I really don't want to spend money on a lousy part to just have it sit around provided it's not the proper one.

Also, made sure to wait well over a day to bump (around 26-27 hours).

Toyota dealer would be where to purchase an FRS bumper new. You have a new car.... IF you HAVE to swap this out at least do it with factory parts.

Simple reason for switching it is I love the FR-S, the BRZ just had everything included without paying the extra fees and such. Also, the drive to the Scion dealership is an hour for me whereas Subaru is all of 5 minutes up the road. Also, thanks for that note, guess I'll be taking the hour long drive to hit up a Scion dealership and find a front bumper.

Didn't ask about reasoning. I considered doing the switch because if you look at WRB brz's with FRS fronts they look awesome. Someone mentioned turns and fogs above, definitely things to consider when you plan this out, it isn't just as simple as a bumper swap.

Not too complicated, but there are a decent amount of parts to do this correctly without making it a hackjob.

I considered this too as my brz bumper is pretty beat up. To solve the useless lights in the FRS bumper Id suggest doing the fog light delete panels with the brake ducting? That would probably look nice rather then having lights that aren't hooked up.

Definitely go OEM. You can usually find them on eBay from wrecked cars for a decent price if you're lucky in your color if not repaint it. Good luck!

Researched that already, most of them are cracked and have dents galore in it. Honestly I'll either take my chances with something online or contact a dealership.

I just did a quick search for a BRZ front bumper because I was thinking of replacing it since I have so many scratches/bugs/buildup on it that it just won't come off with cleaning supplies. It's OEM and unpainted for $226 from subarupartsamerica.com. I'm thinking a FRS/86 bumper should cost around the same. I'm not sure how much it would cost to paint it and if not would it be a close match.

Searched up "OEM FR-S Bumper" and found this:

http://parts.olathetoyota.com/scion/...e=bumper-cover

Didn't even consider the above (searched for an OEM specific part) so it definitely makes a huge difference. Not too expensive in comparison to the other part found earlier, hoping to get an email back from my local Scion dealership to see if they give a price similar especially since it's local.

As for paint, contacted my local Subaru and their onsite bodyshop stated that a front bumper for a BRZ/FR-S would be around $200-$300 @ ap5512.

Then new bumper clips, grille, turn signal area / fog light housing, fog light / turn signal assemblies (or brake ducts) bumper pad, badging, removal of the headlight surround....etc etc.
