Truck brace to support a wing

Hello everyone,

Trying to see if there are any aftermarket or DIY's trunk braces to support a wing? I have a wing installed but the truck is still a tad flimsy. Looking to brace it up for support. Has anyone done or seen this?

I've never seen one so you're likely on your own. I'd find a welder you can work with to design something custom. Good luck and be sure to post pics in the new "Look what I made!" thread

Or find a BFW designed for the car so it actually does something and has secure and ridged mounting points.

I had it from a previous build so I'm not buying another one. Thanks for the useless tip though, I'll take it under advisement. Today I'm actually going to a M&R metal fabrication to get some brackets cut out and to see if they fit to stiffen up the upper lid of the trunk.

Lol easy killer...

I'm curious about this myself. What will these brackets look like? Will your trunk still be functional?

Wasn't joking nor being snarky. If you have a left over part that is fine but just slapping any old thing on there isn't always the way to go. Parts are designed for specific cars for a reason.

Sure, if you have the money to buy a brand new one, then yes agreed. I don't don't, so back to the point of stiffening the deck lid of the trunk. I remember seeing an episode of speed academy and their voltex wing came with a brace, so I may just see if they would be willing to sell just the brace itself.

Most aftermarket wings that are "made for your car" are attached via trunk lid, unless you go with the RB wing or some other BFW that attaches via the frame. So my thread was for bracing the under side, not buying a brand new wing that would leave me in the same predicament I'm in now.

The rocket bunny wing attaches to the lid just on the back side. You are talking about a frame or post that would mount inside the trunk and support the lid right? What if you add blocks around the outside of the lid next to the weather stripping?

Correct. I may just use some longer bolts and fab a bracket to the under side of the base plate. Mmmmmm…I have to draw out some sketches.
