We don't have many supercharged road cars in the uk but we have plenty of boring turbos. It sounds better!!!

no, it means SC > TC... *run to put on the flame suit* JK
I kinda understand his opinion... I don't say Turbos are boring, but I see tons of Turbo cars, so it might be interesting to see SC one. You know, just like AE86. 86 had both TC & SC aftermarket kits. Some ppl prefer TC over SC in 86, and some ppl prefer SC over TC.

The supercharger = low end torque, the Turbo = high end horsepower. I would take low end torque any day over high end horsepower as it is much more useful in day to day driving. I would rather be real world quick than race track fast unless it was an all out race car.

I vote for a Rotrex style supercharger.

Not an expert opinion but trying to keep this discussion going.
I believe that's not exactly true as the setup is what determines the torque range. Eg, small turbo = low RPM torque, medium turbo = mid range RPM torque, and a big turbo makes high RPM torque. The bigger the turbo and the greater the boosted pressure the longer it takes to spool. Superchargers tend to be small but that doesn't mean a small turbo isn't comparable right?

Superchargers might have better response due to being directly mounted to the accessory belt but a small turbo can provide good low end torque and fairly quick response and when off boost there isn't nearly as much parasitic drag.

Don't forget we're talking Direct Injection too, it'll be easier to get torque and therefore boost at lower RPMs than just a Multiport setup.

The sky can be the limit for both a blower and a sucker. I always boils down to how much $ you have, how much HP you want to make and how much your car can handle.

SC=minimal lag
TC=needs oil feed line/can produce some lag/boost creep

SC seems to be more exclusive to the US while the rest of the world is running TC... weird!

I would prefer a turbo!! Nothing says "oh shit" better than a front mount intercooler!

I vote for turbocharger because with a supercharger, you are going to be limited to the size of the pulley. But with a turbocharger, you can upgrade to any size turbo you want!

Yeah but if you max out the SC, just get a bigger one, same thing with the turbo, you can only go so high in boost.
