personaly, ive never had a problem with any KA-T that i drove. i also love the cast iron block, aluminum is looking for trouble in my opinion... and i only say that bc the SR. but they are easily buildable, and on top of that. every 240 kid pulls theres out and sells for stupid cheap. i always picked up full motors for like $50... and took what i needed at times, trans normally go for $150-200 around here depending if the person you buy from is trying to drift tax you or not.

That's a pretty silly swap. In for non existent build.

Why not just do up an old 240??
i totally agree with you, but i could care less about AC, heat, the radio, so ill see what i can do about running factory harness with a standalone... probably wont work, but worth a shot. and the reason for not building a 240 is... everyone and their mother up here are drift taxed... a rusted out car will go for $1000... like now. S13's arent worth more than $1500 stock with a clean imho. s14's are like $2500 for a beat up one to 5k for a stupid clean with no problems. im not spending that much money on just the car. and i will not buy a project that was already started

I just wanted to come in here and say yes.

But seriously, do what you want if you're willing to go through that extreme of a mod! Good luck!

Why do you hate SR? I thought it was the most popular 240 engine swap for a reason.

Because there is a lot more parts support for it, and it is plug and play (mostly).

And it's mostly because Nissan and the aftermarket in Japan already did the R&D for a turbo engine, so we reap the benefits by having abundance of cheap parts and good power gains.

That's where you are 100% wrong.

A SR is not junk nor is it always having issues. The engine is only as good as the tuner and installer.

Most people don't even bother to consider the age and condition of the engine. It is used, sits around in junkyards, on a boat for weeks, and otherwise are not maintained very well.

I can build a SR w/ stock bottom end and make 400RWHP out of it easily. I can build a clean KA and make 400RWHP out of it easily. Both will be equally as reliable, I just have to spend more money on the KA tuning.

Source: been doing this KA/SR stuff since 1996.

More than you think is controlled by the BCM and ecu in these cars including lights controls exterior and interior as well as traction control and slip angle detection stuff....

Seems a waste to sacrifice all that in a new or newish car. Perhaps we are undersetimating your funding.

I'd do that stuff to an older platform like an S13.

If you are going to swap in a nissan motor you might as well go with a VQ3xHR

Long gone are the days when you can get KA's for $200

VQ's are nice, downfall for them is that they all sound the same no matter what you do... if i had the funding for a VK, by all means... i would do that, haha

If you're looking at swapping an engine into this car, buy a blown motor/theft/auction/water damaged FT86. The amount of work any swap requires will be financially "more responsible" this way.

Trust me.
