AM I AN IDIOT??

ok, so ive noticed a handful of people have swapped LS motors, 2jz's, and 1jz's. dont get me wrong, its cool and all. im tired of the mainstream swaps already in this car. so ive been thinking. and trust me, a lot of thought has come to this idea...

(now this is where you call me an idiot)

so ive been thinking of being that stupid fucking idoit that swaps a KA24DE-T in the car... (once a 240 kid, always a 240 kid) i absolutely hate SR's, with a burning passion. ive already built a KA-T that was going to be reliable for roughly 500hp...

so... what does everyone think? once i get the funds, this plan is most likely going to happen. call me dumb, stupid, and idiot. but i think this would be pretty rad/different/not common....

NOW give me all thoughts that went through your head while reading this! haha

Wiring harness?? Will this be street driven? ECU??

Im no mechanic but it seems to me you likely will need to go stand alone ECU and expect to lose every function except the engine.

for sure street driven, idc about losing other functions... the car is already basic as fuck anyway. it would have a stand alone ecu, which im ok with. itll be street driven until im told otherwise honestly. ive seen cars that shouldnt be on the streets at all, but no one cares. should be a tedious build, but well worth it

Lots of stuff other than the motor ties into the ECU. If it was just a bell housing and motor mounts that would be great. There are LS harness adaptors that allow you to retain all the other cars functions. Personally I admire anyones ability to do this stuff, dont let anyone discourage you.

Why not just do up an old 240??

There's a reason people do certain swaps over others and I do mean besides Instagram likes

Do what makes you happy!! People will always find a reason to put you down if there just a hater. Key here it's your car! But from a stand point I don't think money wise it's right for the payoff. Personally I've been thinking of a lfx motor from the Camaro!! And before anyone freaks let me explain:

Cheap motor and tranny so if anything ever happens. 330 hp 275 torque all motor. Is about 30lbs lighter than are engine. With putting it all the way to the fire wall weight distribution will be even better!! Hell the ls3 motor in are car still maintains are factory weight distribution with like an extra 100 or so pounds added to are car! Beside lfx is basically a v8 with to cylinders cut off so should be similar to a v8 swap! Also it rev above 7000 just like are engine so will feel more natural for this car! And the header setup would be easier seeing how the collector ins in the head and basically has a single down pipe on each side.

To the OP, sounds like you want to go with this engine because it is familiar to you. Any other reason you are choosing this engine?
