Cool Louvers........asdfghjkl;~!!!

I know there's 2 or 3 threads about louvers, but that's not why I'm here.

Anyone in the last year purchase louvers?

If so:

How is your DD overall visibility?
Night visibility good?
Which louver did you purchase?
Price?
Worth it?

I'm trying to muster up myself to buy one...... but $1000.... is so much for just louvers....

Thats what I'm trying to see.

There was TRD, prototype one, cheap one from facebook and a ebay nameless one. Was for like $700.

Edit: Here's one of 'em. https://www.facebook.com/events/622174637894634/

I can tell my review, but was on my rx7 and it came when bough it. Previous owner installed.
DD with daylight was ok
At night i did not see a shit, but was good when someone tailgate me with high beam
Was really good for summers, keep the inside with less heat.
But paying for one grand, hell no

They look really good only on 80's hatchbacks & two seaters with the engine in the rear.

ex:
DeLorean
280ZX
1986 Supra
2nd gen RX-7
83 Trans Am/Firebird

I think they've become relics of the 80's like pop up headlights in the 90's and fins from the 50's.

I'm not against mods of the 80s, but wouldn't rear window louvers make keeping the rear window clean a pain ??.......

To answer your question there Hum they unlatch very easily(or so I understand) and you just pop them off clean the window and pop them back on.

There is only the TRD. Prototype never made it to market and emerged as the for sale TRD one due to the 3rd brake light. The FB one never happened and personally I wouldnt trust an ebay one due to fitment concerns personally. One day I plan to drop the cash on some.

I have sat in a car with them and visibility is totally fine

If the price came down to half - about 500 I'd get a set in a heartbeat (heck, I'd do 700 shipped). I love the looks but I just can't bring myself to drop a grand on them no matter how much "faster" they'd make me.

Not like they are 8 inches long or anything.
