Sure sounds like it is only the manual. I was originally with you on the poor wording.
SHIT!

AHHHH that makes me feel better! If just a tune then same engine and at least part of my ass talk theory is true.

We really need some more detailed specs I guess.

So I'm installing a remote start and my bypass module requires different coding for the manual or auto transmission... So I guess it makes sense to me that they could just do it for manuals. Maybe they are trying to encourage manual transmission sales? Or it would be too difficult to do on the autos so they did what they could easily and called it good?

The other problem I see with this is that even if it was just a tune, it would've been nice to eliminate the torque dip and that should be applicable to all cars not just MT.

Or they just simply don't think of it as a problem. For probably about 90% of the owners it probably isn't. They knew it was there when they first released the car and obviously were not worried about eliminating it then. Not like they got so far in the design and went "hey there is torque dip but let's not bother looking at it right now we will worry about that in 2016"

Should just about make up for the difference in the average person's ability to shift as fast as the AT.

And with the revelation about the hp difference between the two cars, I am willing to bet those hoping for a torque dip removal are going to be sadly disappointed.

In this case it would not be of relevance. I have a '13 and didn't get the 5hp bump

Pretty sure your drop in filter makes the same as hp bump for the 2017 86

Also they cheaped out on the center console hvac

Instead of the nice BRZ one with start engine button

Why?

Happy they got rid of the red interior accents a fake carbon fiber though

86 logo on headlamps is a nice touch

Adding a button garnish moving it from the vent was unnecessary unless they're planning to make it functional
