Well that's not fair old model, except it was true in 2013 as well, and 2012 with only a partial year of sales the FR-S outsold the Miata over the course of the year nearly 2:1, now add in BRZ sales. 2015 got close with the release of the ND seeing the Miata outsell the FR-S on a monthly basis for the first time, but then you add in the BRZ figures the 86 is still pushing more units. October 2016 is the only month where the Miata outsold the 86 so far, and that was by a whopping 14 cars.

Learn to avoid the clickbait. The Miata gets a free pass because kicking it doesn't generate ad views and foaming at the mouth comments like yours.

The dumbasses at Autoblog seem to gloss over the fact that the Focus ST moves under 10k units a year and the Fiesta ST under 5k. In 2013, the twins outsold the WRX and GTI.
