Somebody already did it, I forgot where it was posted. They put the camera where the hole for the mirrors would be. And the monitors on the door panel by the triangle door glass.

Don't for get about the jdm underpanels for that .01 more aero.

.01 more aero? What other aero mod do you think you could do that would have more of an effect than removing two giant pieces of plastic the size of grapefruits sticking out into the wind?

EDIT: Or do you mean the JDM underpanels are .01 more aero?

Let me qualify my arguments though, if you aren't supercharged already, save your pennies.

You guys obviously have no idea about aerodynamics so here's a detailed diagram to explain it all..

This is not a formula one car we are talking about here and some things can be taken too far for the results that are gained.

Gonna head over to the Prius room where they really know their stuff on this topic and see how many thousands of dollars I can spend to save .002 mpg.
Airplanes start to fly at around highway speeds. Anything over 50mph, it matters more and more exponentially.

That actually supports what I am trying to say. For the minimal impact they would have, at the small percentage of time most people drive that speed it is a terrible investment to spend money for this mod.
Now if modding purely for show then sure knock yourself out. To say you are gaining any measurable speed or fuel savings is just silly.

Ummm no I'm saying the effects of aerodynamics can lift thousands of pounds off the ground and into the sky at those speeds. You may not be making much lift, but you sure can produce some drag on a car. And the mirrors are probably the easiest fix of anything.

But still a minimum impact on the whole. Now if I was running the mirrors off Billy Bob's Kenworth on there I could see it being worthwhile. I just can't see the value of removing these mirrors.

Yeah at 50mph it's about 1 mpg but it increases on an exponential curve.. i.e. at 60 mph is like 2 mpg or something 70 would be 4 mpg, etc... and that can be translated to more power of you're not the gas saving type. It's really not that insignificant. And if it an inexpensive mod why not?
