Yep. The threads usually start with "This is my first car and since I can't stand the monkeys working on my car so do all my own work..." and end with "so the dealer says there was no oil in it an it isn't covered. Damn Toyota I know I put oil in".

Dude, you missed it.

In the "enthusiasts" page on fb, some 19 year old kid posted that he blew his motor by abusing the shit out of his car. His claim: "I redlined my car multiple times a day, every day, since I've owned the car."

Really wish I saved that post because his excuse was: "So what? I'm 19"

Now I honestly don't know if that was the real reason and he could be lying. This happened... 2 weeks ago??

I redline my car daily? I also take care of it lol!! I do think I will let a rocker out one of these days with all the clattering the engine makes

Just found out, you can make twin w swapped LS engine w smog approved... THAT including Cali Smog approved... WTF...

Do you redline every single gear, every single day?

I know engines are built to handle lots of abuse but up to a certain point. I honestly don't know if the kid was telling the truth or not but that's what he claimed.

Oh here's the kicker. Last time I checked the post (again, 2 weeks ago), he was in the process of filing a warranty claim.

1st 2nd and I think 3rd (forgot how fast I am going at that point I try to stay under 160k/h

I also have an oil cooler, change oil every 5k km's, do UOA ect

GM sell LS3 kit that's compliance to Cali Smog. So literally, you can swap LS engine and still legal to drive around without worrying bout how to pass every yr.

Would that change my mind bout swapping engine? No, but it's pretty cool food for thoughts.
