Driver's side door sounds hallow

Hey guys,

I did a search and couldn't find anything on this; when I close my drivers side door, there is a unsatisfying "hallow" sound, opposed to the passenger side. Passenger side closes with a nice "thud". Driver's side is a more hallow, cheap sounding-sound (lol). Not sure if this is normal. I'm bringing the car in on Wednesday for an oil change, so I'm definitely going to have this checked out.

I bought my car used with 17k on it, now has 19.5k. It's a '13, 6MT

The door is hollow. It's neither hallow nor holy. Unless it's consecrated, of course.

Drivers side gets used more and everything is a bit looser creating that sound.
Not a BMW or Lexus.

Ahhhh, alright. I've read a few folks have had the dealer install some sound proofing materials in their doors. Wasn't sure if the previous owner had the dealer fix a noise issue in the passenger door, and they just left the driver's side alone. Not a huge issue, just something I noticed today when I was cleaning my car.

Mine does the exact same thing. Passenger door gets used about 5% of my driver side so is all still nice and solid. If they did sound proofing then they paid for it. It isn't a warranty item that is for sure.

I added sound deadening to both doors. Road noise is not reduced significantly nor much. Not worth, but it does have a heavy thunk to it.

And in that case OP needs to burn his door at the crossroad under a full moon at midnight.
Or get a full Visconti tune, to be on the safe side.

Suggest an aftermarket header and exhaust, and new routine: start car, fast revs, and then close doors this will mask door thunk.

Yep, @FRSteve91 ....... don't bank on any warranty service.

You may consider adjusting the latch on the door, to see if you can get the "tightness" back ......

It's really not that big a deal. I was just curious if anyone else noticed this. I dont mind road noise. I honestly don't think I want any sound deadening, I enjoy the sound of my TRD exhaust

Adding some CLD can make a huge difference. I added CLD and MLV to the BRZ doors, and they feel like Volvo doors now. I don't have a comparison video for the BRZ, but it's the same result I got with my old Outback, which I did take a brief video of:
