Having driven a friend's modded 997tt and another friend's 996 GT3, if I had the money I would buy one in a heartbeat. Not because I take it to the track, or because I'm trying to go 180 on public roads, or because its 'Ring time is something special, but just because it's fun. Whether it's getting up to speed for an interstate or braking into a curve on a canyon road, they were a blast to drive. And driving a higher end 911 felt special, which was also fun. You don't need to be at 10/10ths all the time to enjoy the vehicle.

True, but those cars are designed to be fun at triple-digits speed lol.

I agree that the best part of the 86 is its feel... But I do wish I had more power. It's not that I want to race around everywhere, but driving my dad's M3 for e.g. - if I want to pass someone or get ahead of traffic or need to accelerate a bit, then having that 400hp is awesome. So basically it's about having more options :-) I do agree with the obsession with numbers though. Why are cars getting faster, but still weigh a ton! Why not much lighter? Lighter would mean faster, fuel efficiency, better cornering etc all in 1 go. Instead we have more power, more electronics, more of everything to compensate.

Ok seriously what kind of fucking cars do you guys have on the road? (all those if I want to pass I'd like to be able to).
Funny, I used to own a stock is300 before that and never had any trouble shifting people and passing them if I wanted to with that fat pig with only 220hp. Most cars on the road are Hyundai elantras, chevy cruzes and other small shit like that or bigger luxo cars/truck/crossovers that don't speed. I'm tired of all you guys talking about not being able to pass the cars with a 200hp twin like if all the cars on the road were nismo gtr's and gt500. most carrs are driven by people who shit their pants if they press the gas pedal more than halfways in and/or if they speed 20 over limit so stop talking as if everyone is the stig driving a McLaren Yes there is the occasional a-hole with the high hp car that will refuse to let you pass him but guess what, who gives a shit, that's the minority so stop speaking like it's 99% of the people (I guess maybe Dubai excepted, because a lot of people there own insane cars). In theory, those people claiming the car is anemic and lacks power fail to understand most cars on the road have even less (most cars are used, a few year to a lot of years old, econo boxes with like 90-130hp. If you can't pass those than you have issues. /end of rant |

Yep! When you require a second key to unlock the full power they are sort of saying "look be careful eh".

All I can say is that speed is addicting.
Speed and power, the more you get the more you want. I can't explain why but it is true. I bought my GSX-R 600 while I still owned my FR-S. It was the first fast vehicle I ever owned (car/truck/motorcycle/etc). That rush was the beginning of the end. Then taking it to the track just made my addiction that much worse. Soon I wanted more out of my car, so I got the Vette. Then I wanted more out of my bike so now I've got a ZX-10R. I need help
