Interesting! OK, as others have said, I still prefer the FR-S looks but compared to what Toyota has just released as their facelift, and even the previous BRZ, this looks better all-around! The headlamp design and bumper does look that bit more aggressive compared to the old BRZ but yet not over the top like the new 86. It still has the smiley face mustache thing going on though...

But I love the additional red stitching and the digital display in the dash! The carbon fiber looks really out of place though. They just don't match the matte finish of the plastic buttons and panels surrounding it. Could this just be an optional extra or an aftermarket add-on?

Sadly though, I do not see anything different about the engine intake. I was hoping they'd have some variation of the multi-stage intake from the GMRN 86 with this new one. So the extra power is likely a very minor tune after all.

Still, if this is anywhere accurate, looks like I may be going with the BRZ after all. I'd be even happier though if there were an STI version with Brembo brakes coming soon.

The steering wheel looks like it has the same material as my STI steering wheel. I'll say that its much nicer than the stock steering wheel feel. I wish I could get those buttons, even if they don't look that nice. For now, the update to the '15 deck was at least better than my original 13 version in that regard.

The speakers and center console knee guards are different than the previous hard plastic or padded versions based on the stitching and material.

Same can be said about the updated cluster hood and passenger dash cover.

Not a fan of the bumper's lines... I dig the DRL look.

Headlights are nice, I wonder what the turn signals look like but prefer the original boomerang look - these are very WRX-ish and those are too fat/wide/big IMO. This looks like its trying too hard.

I could go for the carbon trims as a just because item. (I have lots of those)

I like the bigger exhaust tips, it reminds me of the STI muffler exhaust tips.

I like the rims, they remind me of Wedsport SA10Rs.

Rear tail lights are nicer than the last version, but not as good as the newer Valenti versions that look almost exactly like that and definitely not as good as the Tom's.

Not a fan of the FRS, and even less so of the 86 revisions. Irrespective of that, I wonder if Subaru will get all the good stuff again and leave the plain-jane to Toyota, releasing the good stuff for Toyota use in the later years.

Overall, some really nice improvements!

I'm not saying this because I already have a BRZ, but I'm not a fan of the face lift. I'll concede the 2017 BRZ look gels better than the 86 and I'm hoping this isn't the final product, but there's little to be excited over.

I love having DRL's on the lower front kit, now they ditched them and appear to have gone for some cost saving by integrating them into the headlight unit, but that made the new unit look too fussy. They also ditched the lower bar driving / fog lights I liked?

They again went for cost saving by sticking to the same wheels as the 86 losing an easy way to further differentiate the BRZ.

Rear looks like it will also be exactly the same as the 86, once again not only re-using the tail lights for likely cost saving, but once more losing a chance to introduce a proper Subaru interpretation to help gel the car into the overall corporate family look.

My overwhelming impression is Subaru is happy to let the car just glide in neutral till it putters out and fades away. The only investment they have made is a new nose and headlights?

I bet you the twins now share exactly the same suspension losing the only other differentiation left. Why did Subaru even bother changing the nose at all. They could of saved money and just used the same as the 86?

The aftermarket focusing on cosmetics must be breathing a real sigh of relief. The new car will have no impact on the sales of their products.

I definitely agree this looks better than the 86 refresh. But if this is legit, pretty darn happy I jumped on a hyper blue model. The steering wheel is too busy, the lcd screen in the dash looks forced, the additional faux carbon fiber looks bad, and the breakup now on the infotainment area looks clunky. Also as others mentioned, it's unfortunate there is not a separate drl location anymore. I'm sure once it's released in person I will lust after it, but right now, meh. I bet Subaru's NYIAS press pictures are going to make this look really really good.

Personally I don't see anything WRONG with the HyperBlue, but I don't think it's as appealing as the Series Blue because it's mostly just a color package. Different body color, yes, but the rest is just OEM wheels and badges painted black (and I don't think the black works as well on such a bright color.) It did get a blue stitched interior but I can't remember if it got the blue leather and Alcantara accents the Series.Blue got. The Series.Blue also got red painted brakes, a FULL body kit (including the JDM underbody aero trays), and entirely different wheels that were actually lighter. I just felt like you got a lot more for your money.

The HyperBlue almost seemed like they were charging a premium just for the color, and at the last minute realized they should probably throw in some other bonuses too I'd they wanted to sell it, if that makes sense.

I hate the buttons on the steering wheel. Looks awful, belongs in a corolla. Not a BRZ.

And a huge amount of owners are going to probably swap out the OEM head unit radio for something else, making these buttons useless. Awful by them to change this.

OH Noooooo... Not the steering wheel!... anything but the steering wheel!...

(I actually don't mind it at all. It looks weird but acceptably okay with all its functioning buttons)

Looks good! I really like the new radio bezel. I've always thought it looked a bit unfinished on the originals. Not a fan of all that CF though but that's just my personal taste. Pretty sure this steering wheel will be available on the 86. I'd be shocked if they didn't have a new head unit with Bluetooth.

Something's odd about the head unit. Surely that bezel is not production. It looks like they took a head unit made for another car and made a custom black bezel to shoehorn it in place for the auto show. It doesn't flow with the rest of the dash at all and even clashes with the brushed gray supports directly underneath it.

I don't have a problem with any of the updates, but I'm not all that excited about it either.
