im suprised at the amount of people that are going for 17s on this car. I think those wheel wells are crying out for 18s...

18's are great for pimping

17's are great for tracks and go fast!

I thought I wanted some aftermarket 17s, but every photo I've seen on here with 17s make the wheels look tiny. The stocks look better IMO. I guess the wheel wells are just huge.

For me I think I'm staying stock for a while. I don't want 18s and don't want aftermarket $3k wheels that look tiny.

After many years and extensive research, Toybaru decided that 17's were the better fit. It's the same wheel spec on every single one of their kits. Someone make sure what size TRD's wheels are.

But the TRD version here in the US is gonna have 18, @ the VLN 'Ring race, they used 17, and for the off-road coarse as well.

Obviously with an 18, you lose the sidewall which is where the 17 can be more beneficial, but the key factor is width and weight of the wheel. If you can keep these two within acceptable limits, it shouldnt be an issue. These cars dont have excessive amounts of power so sticking a heavy wheel with too much rubber on is going to to hurt.

I personally will be going with 18s...

I went ahead and changed direction and ordered a track only set of 17x8 Kosei K4R's... weight of Enkei RPF1's for less money and they have a +36mm offset. Enkei RPF1 wouldn't be available in time plus the offset barely any different offset from stock even though width is increased 1". I'll run the stock wheels normally.

Actually, TRD wheels in Japan are 18" too. Here's the Japanese TRD list, in English. However, just because TRD makes them doesn't mean they're the best wheel performance-wise; Japanese people are no more immune to the bling-factor than we are.

I went with 17's when ordering mine because I did not want to alter the handling characteristics of this car too much, and all of my wheel choices were going to look smaller anyway even in an 18". It's because of the spokes on the stock wheel going all the way to the lip; so unless you get a similar design in an 18" or 19", the wheel's going to look a bit smaller by comparison. At the end of the day, I'd rather have the lightest wheel rather than the prettiest.

They are an inch bigger than stock and 2.5 inches wider than stock and weigh only 23lbs. The stock wheels weigh 22. I think its a good compromise.
