I don't think anyone is debating the worth or value of replicas in this thread. I think the OP was honestly just curious what company first introduced this design.
Some people like to use fancy name brand original design made in Japan wheels as a status symbol.

Spot on.
I was mainly curious who made the design first (or if XXR was first), and who else offered whees in a similar style. I was hoping for something lighter and more reliable than XXR, but all of you still pointed me in the right direction, so thank you. ![]()

That's cool, just seemed like you wanted that wheel but were avoiding the XXR specifically for it's "replica" status. I figure there can only be so many designs so multiple companies are bound to come up with very similar ones whether intentionally or not
