Make sure you have a strong friend(s) around for the part where you position the supercharger. If you can get some tools specifically for hose clamps it wouldn't hurt. Don't put the factory snorkel back on, don't forget to put the radiator shroud back on. Some of the steps don't have pictures, read the instructions very carefully so you don't miss anything. |

Not sure if its been fixed on the newer kits, but I found the screws for the MAF sensor to be too long (or hole for the MAF housing too shallow, so have some washers handy (not sure what size) to be able to screw down the MAF correctly.

Well, productive day. We pulled the manifold, taped everything off, and called it a night. Not bad for three hours of work in low light.
Still don't know what the hell I'm going to do about the rivet nuts. |

Has anyone started pushing these with E85 and smaller pulleys? I'm curious to know how much power you can safely make with one before you need to build the engine.

I didn't actually buy them, I just checked on stock to make sure they were in the warehouse on island. When you live in Hawaii, every complication goes just that little bit more south on you.
Yeah I was thinking the same. For some reason I can't load Youtube this morning, but is that the video where he drills out a pipe? I was like wtf is he doing? He could just use washers. |

I don't think it's a kit related restriction but the common consensus seems to be ~300whp you should be looking at internals, regardless of how you're making that power (turbo/SC/juice/etc.).

I thought it was 400whp? I thought 300 is where the clutch slips and fuel system starts to fall short, 400 the internals and tranny.
That number could be lower when you're making more torque at lower RPM's though. |

It is never the tuning, of course.

Check all your injector plugs. Make sure all of the prongs are straight and not bent.

That's an easy one we might have overlooked...
Also, if injectors aren't lined up with metal tabs it could contribute to a rough idle due to the specific spray pattern of the injectors. Last edited by itsibarra; 03-17-2016 at 12:40 PM. |
